It is not "some expansion", it is "THE expansion" tot get to an, by now, arbitrary 55k bopd.

Has it occured to you that the trucking sets different demands to any oil leaving Shaikan than export through a pipeline? What's the 'industry standards' got to say on that? Has it implications for the 'surface facilities', f.i. reduced minimum requierments or maybe even obsolete?
(I am sure it took quite some money to get the Shaikan oil to pipeline specs. when they switched from trucking. Now they switch 'back', if you catch my drift.)

I seem to recall o i posting awhile back that the company could achieve 55k a day without the new well. I expect he's altered the posts accordingly.

"Easy route"? Oh dear, there's a little more to it than that.

Then of course to consider are Timeline and Money. And of course the MNR.

Two years for 55k won't be impressing cashti. So what will he want now?

GKP have repeatedly said that the subsurface work to achieve 55,000 bopd involves the installation of 3-4 Electric Submersible Pumps and one additional well with an ESP. The installation of ESPs to existing wells in order to increase flow rate is bog-standard industry stuff, involving the use of a modest workover rig and no drilling. Assuming that an additional well would only go into the Jurassic reservoir, which is surely the case, it is a relatively shallow well and is not expensive. Installing its ESP would be done at that time.

By industry standards this is an easy route! Some expansion of the surface facilities are required to handle the additional oil prior to export (allowing the dissolved gas to come out of solution, etc) but GKP have plenty of experience and once again this is a modest task by industry standards.

Let's agree on as long as the company manages not to get to 55kbopd, it can AGAIN raise money to achieve that and AGAIN lose it... 'on the easy route'. But ofcourse the propaganda value should not be overlooked because the 55k -stick or carrot?- appears to have the ability to swing stakeholders vote to the shady side of any deal that can do with labelling it 'make or break'.

P.S. At first I thought it didn't look easy at all, that "easy route to 55,000 bopd". But then I realised that's only because I'm a shareholder.

BigGob's been told to push the trucking news with a negative slant .

It's what he's being paid a few cents per post for .....desperate to get to that TWENTY THOUSAND POST mark to get his $10 bonus .

What BigGob fails to mention is that he bought in at £4 .....at a time when we weren't even producing oil at all .......LOL

(PS - he later sold those £4 shares for just 4 pence each . I'm not sure if that's been mentioned before .....LOL)
