For example, the oft-repeated statement that every barrel has been paid for since Jan 2015. Well, of course you can state that; some barrels have been produced and some money received. You can allocate the money to each barrel. But it's only meaningful in the context of what the per barrel profit margin is.

2015: 11.1m barrels produced
2015: $86.2m revenue.

$7.7 per barrel before costs.
