It`s a moot point as to whether an amalgamation would be governed by UK laws or in this case Bermudan Bye law 165 which requires approval of the BOD and a majority of shareholders at a general meeting which only requires two shareholder present or by proxy to be quorate.

Don`t think they would get away with that but it all depends on the terms and conditions. the perks for the BOD and the views of big shareholders.

That assumes that there is an offer wihich many of us doubt would be the case as the climate of unresolved issues etc needs to improve.

I would be happy with the pipeline running.

I hope that Barzani announces that the Kurds are declaring their independence. Being part of Iraq doesn`t seem to work and wastes a lot of time in meetings which get nowhere and solve nothing.

There's no greater power in Kurdistan than Masoud Barzani, he's the Patriarch of the Kurdish Nation and THE ultimate decision maker, it's significant that he's making his first visit to Baghdad in six years.

He's the man who in 2005 sat around a table with the Americans and the leaders of the Iraqi government and thrashed out the Iraqi Constitution. He fought hard and won the constitutional rights for the Kurds that are enshrined in that Constitution, a Constitution that was agreed and signed off by the Iraqi government and that is valid to this day.

Masoud Barzani is not going to Baghdad for his first visit in six years to negotiate away the rights that he and his predecessors fought so hard for and in many cases died to achieve.
