28/5/2024 21:27 | Could see a perfect storm soon where shorters need to close out fast if that meeting initiates some form of an agreement between all parties and the company completing its share buy back programme. | whl2
28/5/2024 21:07 | Whatever the difference in production cost recovery (whether $10 or $15) selling at $25 or at spot price $85 is a no brainer and transformational. | justiceforthemany
28/5/2024 21:04 | Looks like good news but there is likely to be a lot of brinkmanship now - one party now wants to resolve things quickly but the others may well say not so fast sunshine here are some tweaks if you are that desperate. Not sure if we see a large price jump as it is still all talk and no solid agreements but there should be upward movement. | scrwal

28/5/2024 20:14 | Hi beernut, the ICG thought they were going to bypass the Kurds with their refurbished pipeline. The Kurds were never going to allow it. They thought they could use the salary issue as a lever to apply pressure. Their own "Supreme Court" put paid to that. They thought that by cutting off exports they could starve the KRG and IOCs of revenue. Kurdish production is now back up to full capacity. Time is running out for them as the clock ticks down on the ITP agreement. They've never challenged the PSCs in an International Court or tried to cancel them because they know they're legal. Legally and Constitutionally their case is hopeless. In Erdogan's visit last month he didn't give them ONE EXTRA DROP of water but secured 10 years and billions of dollars of work for Turkish companies to help them make better use of what he's already giving them. They've got no cards left and have been sidelined, now it's them that's asking for an urgent meeting because they want exports restarted. They've painted themselves into a corner and if they want ANY oil in the ITP the only avenue left open to them is to give APIKUR what they want. APIKUR and the Kurds mustn't give an inch in the upcoming meeting, they need to keep tightening the screws. Anyway, fingers crossed. | habshan
28/5/2024 19:40 | Well Habshan What we discussed a couple of days ago about Kurdistan getting budget payments guaranteed and still no oil for Baghdad. Maybe just karma. Gla | beernut1
28/5/2024 19:11 | "In a statement released on Tuesday, the Ministry emphasized the need to align the export processes with existing agreements, specifically routing exports through the Turkish port of Ceyhan in compliance with the fixed quantities stipulated in the budget law." So they've decided that they need to restart exports in "alignment with existing agreements". I certainly can't see them convening this urgent meeting just to reiterate "nope it's $6 a barrel". | habshan
28/5/2024 19:05 | lets not forget, this lot like to talk.. they just never come to any agreement... | mmt1

28/5/2024 19:01 | The Iraqi Oil Ministry calls for an urgent meeting in Baghdad with the KRG and foreign oil companies to expedite the KRG oil export restart through the 'Northern System,' which may indicate export via the Kirkuk-Turkey pipeline. The Iraqi Oil Ministry released a statement saying:The Federal Oil Ministry is dedicated to resuming oil production in the Kurdistan Region and restarting oil exports through the Northern System to serve the national interest. The oil minister invites the KRG and international oil companies to attend a meeting as soon as possible in Baghdad with the purpose to reach an agreement that will expedite production and resume oil exports via the Turkish port, in line with the quantities specified in the budget law. | luckyclicker
