29/5/2024 06:10 | I can't see all these important people wasting time getting together unless some negotiations have already been taking place. So it's a positive sign in my view. | shortsqueezer
29/5/2024 06:07 | The only change this time that I can see is the IOC's will be at the table... I presume therefore we might get more of an indication of what is astualy the problem - people will fire questions I am guess at the AGM at the directors next month - and they won't be able to say we don't know or give vague answers... Will anything be different, we can only but hope! | mmt1

(Photo: Safin Hamed/AFP) Iraq Iraqi oil ministry Oil exports ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Iraqi Oil Ministry in a statement on Tuesday called for the immediate resumption of oil exports from the Kurdistan Region. Iraq's Oil Ministry also invited the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Natural Resources and companies operating in the region to meet in Baghdad as soon as possible. In the statement, the ministry said the meeting's goal was to discuss the export of oil from the Kurdistan Region through the Ceyhan port in accordance with the agreement. The amount of oil exports will be determined by the budget law, according to the statement. Iraq has lost $11 billion in revenue and $400 million in investments by APIKUR member companies following the suspension of oil exports from the Kurdistan Region through the Iraq-Turkey pipeline. Despite the readiness of the Turkish and Kurdistan Regional Governments (KRG), Iraq is still not ready to resume oil exports. | beernut1

29/5/2024 05:43 | "An "urgent" meeting ? Thats new." Indeed. Just 9 days ago Al-Sudani said this:- OilPrice.com - “The companies refuse to amend, so the process stops at this point,” Al-Sudani said in a televised press conference on Sunday" Now they want an urgent meeting to negotiate an immediate resumption of exports. So what's changed that's so urgent. | habshan
29/5/2024 05:38 | H7-I said months ago that is what they should do, also should pay Kurd budget entitlement directly, we discussed it at the time. Did not see that they have done any of it but great if so. | hydrocarbon1
29/5/2024 05:26 | Kurdistan Watch:12h The Iraqi Oil Ministry calls for an urgent meeting in Baghdad with the KRG and foreign oil companies to expedite the KRG oil export restart through the ‘Northern System,’ which may indicate export via the Kirkuk-Turkey pipeline. ==================== An "urgent" meeting ? Thats new. Blinken has already warned them: no pipeline open = no aid money. Maybe they are starting to take him seriously. | highlander7
29/5/2024 04:47 | Sorry, nothing has changed, how many times have we read - willingness co-operation-positiv Iraq, it seems, only goes along so far and the same old outcome every time $6.00 same as Iraq pay???? They have to appear as trying to keep Sleepy Joe happy. I feel outcome will be"Iraq reiterates - Foreign oil Cos still unwilling to negotiate reasonably " Hope I am wrong! | hydrocarbon1

28/5/2024 20:27 | Could see a perfect storm soon where shorters need to close out fast if that meeting initiates some form of an agreement between all parties and the company completing its share buy back programme. | whl2
28/5/2024 20:07 | Whatever the difference in production cost recovery (whether $10 or $15) selling at $25 or at spot price $85 is a no brainer and transformational. | justiceforthemany
28/5/2024 20:04 | Looks like good news but there is likely to be a lot of brinkmanship now - one party now wants to resolve things quickly but the others may well say not so fast sunshine here are some tweaks if you are that desperate. Not sure if we see a large price jump as it is still all talk and no solid agreements but there should be upward movement. | scrwal

28/5/2024 19:14 | Hi beernut, the ICG thought they were going to bypass the Kurds with their refurbished pipeline. The Kurds were never going to allow it. They thought they could use the salary issue as a lever to apply pressure. Their own "Supreme Court" put paid to that. They thought that by cutting off exports they could starve the KRG and IOCs of revenue. Kurdish production is now back up to full capacity. Time is running out for them as the clock ticks down on the ITP agreement. They've never challenged the PSCs in an International Court or tried to cancel them because they know they're legal. Legally and Constitutionally their case is hopeless. In Erdogan's visit last month he didn't give them ONE EXTRA DROP of water but secured 10 years and billions of dollars of work for Turkish companies to help them make better use of what he's already giving them. They've got no cards left and have been sidelined, now it's them that's asking for an urgent meeting because they want exports restarted. They've painted themselves into a corner and if they want ANY oil in the ITP the only avenue left open to them is to give APIKUR what they want. APIKUR and the Kurds mustn't give an inch in the upcoming meeting, they need to keep tightening the screws. Anyway, fingers crossed. | habshan
28/5/2024 18:40 | Well Habshan What we discussed a couple of days ago about Kurdistan getting budget payments guaranteed and still no oil for Baghdad. Maybe just karma. Gla | beernut1 |
