It's interesting that in the FYR announcement of 21st March we were told this:-

"Subject to local sales demand and considering our limited capital programme, gross production potential is currently between 43,000 - 45,000 bopd."

But we are now producing 48,300 bpd.

So they've been carrying out well maintenance and/or bringing another well onstream to meet demand as required.

And if they connect Sh-18 up they can produce up to 60kbpd to satisfy that demand should the need arise.

"Given GKP's weak share price, which the Board believes trades at a significant discount to the intrinsic value of the Shaikan Field and does not adequately reflect the near-term cash flow"

#GKP Very encouraging to see that cash balances at holding Gulf Keystone have increased to $98m. In addition the company is launching a $10m buyback. "At current realised prices and 36% net entitlement, the Company's free cash flow breakeven is at gross sales of c.20,500 bopd""Sales in May to date averaging c.48,300 bopd"https://twitter.com/baroninvestment/status/1789902461831880932?t=SvwrWBEviUletDpxyMBLdA&s=19

Excellent news. Although I favour divis. Probably better for the shorter term share price though.

Joint Committees were meant to meet within two weeks. As we enter the second week, we know that discussions are ongoing between #KRG and Ministry of #Oil.

I agree. Except that the Supreme Court ruling would disagree - in that they have ruled that the contracts were illegal/unconstitutional to begin with. Whether anyone agrees with this or not is up to them, but the fact that the KRG are now formally using the same court and thereby recognising it is one argument to say that their decisions are potentially valid. Obviously they haven't gone down any legal route yet, as that's likely to be very messy, but I imagine it's always an option for them if they were that way inclined. Further, re the constitutional argument, my understanding of the budget agreement from last year was that 400,000 barrels of oil produced in Kurdistan would be sold and processed by SOMO - ie not sold independently by the KRG - in return for the IGC giving Kurdistan their share of the budget. This is most, if not all of what is produced. Either way, my point is not that it won't get sorted out, but rather that it won't get sorted out rapidly. Clearly there are many more pieces that need to be manoeuvred into place before exports will get the green light. Not least speaking to the IOCs about what they are prepared to accept going forward. In the mean time I imagine many of the decision makers are making good money with the current situation. It's a political and legal mess. That's the truth. Hopefully it does get sorted, but as I've said, it could take a long while longer than we are hoping.
