09/4/2022 14:47 | THey have a huge portion of net entitlement 2p reserves under the PSC........... | giant_canine
09/4/2022 14:45 | So do GKP own all the oil in the fields? or are they just producing under licence? | turvart
09/4/2022 14:33 | Giant_Canine, I'm new to GKP, I hear what your saying, I'm just explaining about how buybacks work because some people don't understand, I know little about this stock but I do understand that on a fundamental point of view GKP is cheap as chips, this should be at least on a PE of 12 giving an share price of approx £6.90 and thats on last years EPS figures of 58p, the market needs to wake up to GKP. | turvart
09/4/2022 14:27 | 1 The CFO said - considered but not big on buybacks v Dividends 2 If they are in talks/had approaches - they cant do an in mkt buyback as it breaches UK Takeover Code - maybe thats the reason they havent for 4 years | giant_canine
09/4/2022 14:17 | Buybacks do increase the share price technically but practically the market sometimes does not uplift the share price here is an example: Company X makes £10,000 net profit with 100,000 shares, EPS = 10,000 divided by 100,000 = 10p Company X is priced in the market of a PE of 10, so EPS X PE = share price = 10 x 10 = 100p SP Company X decides to have a share buyback and buys 10,000 shares, next year the final results come in and company X does exactly the same net profit of £10,000, the EPS now becomes 10,000 divided by 90,000 shares = 11.11p EPS The market still values company X on a PE of 10, the Sp becomes PE x EPS = 10 x 11.11 = 111.10p | turvart
09/4/2022 13:28 | Is there a buyback in progress? No.......... Unless one ( hopefully) has been going on via a GKP proxy. I would certainly welcome a buyback............. | giant_canine
09/4/2022 13:26 | Investors Chronicle BUY Recommendation: "Earlier this year, the IC’s technical analyst Michael Taylor observed that “a breakout from the 220p resistance zone would see the stock move into a price area not seen since the autumn of 2019”. That’s already played-out, and the next leg up is towards the 300p mark, so a forward ratio of three times forecast earnings and a prospective dividend yield in double-figures seems compelling given the prospect of enduring elevated oil prices. Buy." 23p dividend being paid May 13, and 9 p in early July. | giant_canine
09/4/2022 13:25 | Buffett and his partner, Charlie Munger, argue that stock buybacks can be hugely beneficial to shareholders in the right circumstances. "Charlie and I favor repurchases when two conditions are met: First, a company has ample funds to take care of the operational and liquidity needs of its business; second, its stock is selling at a material discount to the company's intrinsic business value, conservatively calculated," Buffett said in his 2011 letter to shareholders. The first condition rules out a company with more pressing needs from irresponsibly spending its cash on buying back its shares. The second condition simply means that shares are trading at a reasonable price, and therefore offer an attractive entry point for the stock purchases. "Disciplined repurchases are the surest way to use funds intelligently: It's hard to go wrong when you're buying dollar bills for 80¢ or less," Buffett said in his 2012 letter. Slashing the share count also boosts each shareholder's stake in the business. Buffett used Apple, Berkshire's biggest holding, as an example at the conglomerate's annual meeting in 2018. | giant_canine
09/4/2022 13:21 | So how much can we expect at Takeover? Minimum 12 quid Probably 25-45 quid Possibly 75 quid + Other holders views? | giant_canine

09/4/2022 13:02 | Hey Paulwindbag, what takeover would that be? Have any of your multi avatars and the BS they've posted for 8 years been correct about anything? All your made up invented "imminent" takeaways have they affected the SP? Has any of your invented ramping made an iota of difference to the SP? You were wiped out in 2016 at the same time as you were predicting no wipeout. Where are "your" buybacks that you've been predicting for ages? Then there's the cross dressing test tube washer that says this is a different company now to what it was under Kozel. Really? The Trough is still filled to spill when required for those with vested interests but have there been any achievements to warrent their noses in the trough? The mildly positive continues to be announced and there are the usual hyped up predictions being made for the future however they are still to achieve plans that they made seven years ago!!! Production that was to be increased from 42 to 55k was meant to take 18 months with a couple of wells, some ESP's and a few workovers. Current production seven years on is mid forties from several new wells. Uplift of 3k in seven years!!! The only difference is that the OP has come to their rescue and they've been able to pay divis. Still zero barrels discovered from Kozel's massively exaggerated BS numbers. Still finding water across the field that will require the Reserves to be decreased. Having to be really careful with the pumps for fear of sucking up water and rubbish they really don't want. Its obvious they still dont have a clue on the field after 12 years as evidenced by the failures at S9, S12, S13 and S14. And the person who has been responsible has (been) retired. Does that really warrent noses in the trough? Kozel walked away with tens of $millions but there are others that did really well. What about the two people in the wheelhouse at the time of the 2016 restructure, they received shares but arguably were responsible for the wipeout. All at a time they were talking about unlocking the value of the field. The company had a credibility issue under Kozel which is why the Insti's got him removed. The company talk of transparency but words and deeds appear to be at odds with each other still. Hype up their plans but don't mention the problems looks to be just the same imho. Happy to point at the reality whilst you rampers spout your fantasy. | bigdog5

09/4/2022 10:52 | And what adds to that wave are the GKP PIs continually following the lead of the huge institutions that are buying & holding GKP shares to takeover. Through reinvesting our dividends with a big smile on our faces & compounding our investment growth towards a fair final GKP takeover price 💪 | steephill cove
09/4/2022 10:45 | The windbags are constantly failing in an attempt to hold the GKP positivity back. They are now minute in number & are being washed away as the power& strength of the GKP wave grows 🌊 👍 | steephill cove
09/4/2022 10:32 | Allied to my two earlier posts, the recovering oil barrel price as COVID19 has subsided, together with the impact of Russia invading Ukraine & tighter supply has driven that barrel price to further heights & given the GKP share price real traction. And the GKP board the opportunity to pay huge dividends back to small PIs 💪 | steephill cove
09/4/2022 10:23 | Ask yourself a question. Have pointless windbags like Bigdog5; Kurdman63 & Broadford Bay who profess to know more than the board of GKP had any GKP momentum impact POST the oil barrel price plummet as COVID19 hit home? None whatsoever 👍 | steephill cove
09/4/2022 10:19 | Is anyone having the same problem with Hargreaves Lansdowne?mcleani, Posts: 6, Price: 27.40, No Opinioni3e, RE: DRIP, Fri 21:33i would stay away from HL as athtough they re invest for you the big downside is they dont do bed and isa(where broker sells rhen buys back for isa almost immediatly). i am in the current position of having to sell my I3 shares wait 2 full days after day of trade before i can transfer the funds to my isa and buy back in- i sold thursday and today as thought splitting would help ( it didnt) so cant buy back in till tuesday and wedensday - so i find myelf for the first time being unhappy that my favourite share is going up. i reckon i will easily loose out on 10% or more by wed am, not a nice position to be in.Gl all | goodday1
09/4/2022 10:08 | They merely trade merely hot air & p1ss over there & their influence on GKP momentum is zero 📈 The institutions buying & holding GKP to takeover created upward momentum 👍 And GKP paying huge dividends adds to it 💪 | steephill cove |
