GKP given a whole IC page today with a target consensus of 300p even though we all expect more at some point

A lot of these transfers must (imo) be UBS unloading to whoever they've held them for. I expect them not to figure at all in the next major shareholders list and for their holding to be included with the "missing" 40%. Ducks and lines spring to mind.

Net cash is $150m plus $35m of receivables from KRG. At $80+ oil and current production they make $30m/month in revenu with very low capex and opex.

It is the cheapest E&P on the planet. Plenty of political risk mind you.

I guess nothing new at GKP share price manipulation.
At $1.36 to the £, we are capitalised at $605m.
Ignoring net cash on the balance sheet of over $100m we are valued at probably less than two years free cash flow with oil at $80.

Ludicrous.

Oh, I see the share price just increased by a penny

Volume dropped away. It looks like the majority of the transfers are now completed and the share will drift until news.

Take your point about the PM, NOR, but politics can override process when expedient. Here we found out that, today, covid no longer spreads in schools but it will continue to do so until next Thursday in other environments. See, politics controls viruses! In Iraq it's now clear that a major force has direction of the agenda and so, if an o&g law is needed before a PM is appointed, then it will happen. Or we'll get a fast-track PM. What Xi wants Xi gets - to borrow a more famous saying.

Why are people bombing Kurdish banks in Baghdad ?

Monday 17 January 2022 09:53

Baghdad / NINA / - The head of the Center for Political Thinking, Ihsan Al-Shammari, saw the recent bombings that targeted the headquarters of parties and banks in Baghdad, of a punitive and warning political nature.

Al-Shammari said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency ( NINA ): "The bombings that took place yesterday are not different from the bombings of the headquarters of the Progress Party or some Sunni political figures in Baghdad. The aim is to punish and warn at the same time to political parties, if they proceed with a project. Political parties responsible for the bombings may be harmed.”

And he stressed, "The bombings, specifically that targeted banks belonging to Kurdish personalities from the Kurdistan region yesterday, are a message from parties that they have the ability to threaten Kurdish interests in Baghdad, especially since the Kurdistan Democratic Party was also bombed earlier."

He explained: "The purpose of the bombings is to deliver a message to try to re-account the targeted parties with regard to the political process."

Yesterday, two explosive devices targeted the Kurdish banks of Cihan and Kurdistan in the Karrada area, injuring two people and causing damage to the facade of the two banks and a number of nearby shops and vehicles near the two incidents, while the headquarters and offices of the Progress Party headed by Muhammad al-Halbousi and the Azm Party headed by Khamis al-Khanjar were attacked with grenades before A few days./End of 9

The Information/Baghdad..

The former Minister of Water Resources, Mohsen Asfour Al-Shammari, revealed, on Tuesday, that there are more than 20 billion dollars smuggled from Iraqi politicians seized in Lebanese banks, indicating that there is no country in the world that does not operate its intelligence in Iraq.

In a televised interview, Al-Shammari said, "All countries, without exception, operate in Iraq through their intelligence and control their personal interests through politicians."

He added that "these intelligence services are working to smuggle money to Lebanon, Turkey, Syria and the UAE," noting that "all heads of government, even the current ones, fear colliding with them or are part of that process to launder and smuggle money."

He pointed out that "the Lebanese economic crisis revealed the existence of more than 20 billion dollars smuggled from Iraq through politicians, which are now reserved and are being spent in the form of "instalments" for politicians. Done/ 25 d

They haven't got a PM yet , 1st comes the President !

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received on Thursday the head of the United Nations mission in Iraq Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert in Erbil, discussing the formation of a new government in Baghdad.

“Pleased to welcome Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, Special Representative for the United Nations Mission for Iraq. We discussed developments in Iraq after the election of the House of Representatives' Presidency and efforts to form the new Iraqi Cabinet,” Barzani said in a statement.

“We both agreed that the new Iraqi government should be a government that protects the rights of all of its peoples; leads to stability and real partnership, and supports constitutional solutions to Erbil-Baghdad disputes,” he added.

Iraq held a snap parliamentary election on October 10. So far, only the presidency of the parliament has been elected. The MPs have to elect a new president by February 8. The president will later assign the candidate of the biggest parliamentary alliance to form a new government.

UNAMI said in a statement that its chief discussed the “current political situation in the country and the region” with PM Barzani and his deputy Qubad Talabani on Thursday.

Brent seems stuck around $89 (maybe resistance at $90) but, even at that price, and without the fabled 55k we should net mid-thirty million a month soon. What's going to happen to it?

Chinese New Year is 1st Feb this year and the Chinese are legendary with their attachment to auspicious dates for weddings and the like and doing deals. Are they the buyers waiting to tie the knot in a couple of weeks. If they are it wouldn't surprise me to see the o&g law suddenly appear as Iraq seems in thrall to them now.

I also thought it was a bit odd nowadays . But depends how deep the water is and the cost of pumping it to the beach. Even then bound to be more expensive than Onshore.
Could be gas of course.

CNOOC to Explore Offshore in Iraq
17th January 2022 in Iraq Oil & Gas News
By John Lee.

The China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) is to press ahead with oil exploration at a 530-km2 offshore block in Basra.

Originally agreed in 2019, the work had been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In parallel, Iraq's state-owned Oil Exploration Company (OEC) will carry out seismic surveys on the adjoining 120-km2 onshore area.

Following these studies, one exploratory well will be drilled onshore and one offshore.

The announcement was made following a workshop (pictured) to study plans for the development of marine blocks, organized by the Oil Exploration Company in cooperation with CNOOC.

its too costly to have a massive development like Shaikan only pumping 55k BOPD while the price is high and looking to go higher...

2022 will be GKP's last year as an independent company imo.

Oil price is going to rocket this year and everyone needs Shaikan urgently.
