"Goldman Sachs and Capital One are both of the opinion that the market price reaction is currently discounting a 4 million bpd hit to demand, so that is the fear, the reality is that the travel bans from Canada Europe and so on, we're talking about a 10 thousand bpd hit in a 100 million bpd market.

So the market is saying that the impact of the new variant is going to be 10 times more impactful to oil demand than the delta variant was when we had no vaccines, it's not like we are at where we were a year ago, and OPEC have their meetings next week when they can pause adding their monthly increase of 400kbpd to the market. So the most likely worst case scenario has already been more than fully baked in to the oil price.

Before today energy stocks were trading at their lowest valuation levels in history, the average company is trading at 3 times cash flow when they used to trade at 9."

At close of play on Friday Brent had already recovered $1.3 from the days' low.

Lots of volatility to come, but if you're short, be afraid.

Be very afraid.

Shorters (and indeed most traders who are really gamblers in disguise) will only report their apparent huge gains on their (imaginary) trades.


They will never post that their shorts have gone wrong and burnt the house down and they haven't told the wife yet.

Hopefully things won't be as bad as was feared and the situation will quickly get back to normal.

Too soon to tell of course but this seems to give cause for optimism so fingers crossed.

Way better than buying 6 months ago, getting all those pathetic dividends and a measly 400% increase in the share price

If you were TONY, you'd say something like "some tipsters have this as a short", then if the share price didn't go down you would just shut up and leave it there.
BUT, if the share price went down, you could then imply that you actually did short it, and are making loads of money.
I've made way more in my head than any of you insignificant mugs have in the real world.

Klaus Schwab is behind this new variant imo , him and the Chinese, he is mad keen on the great reset. Dr on the radio said it would take 2 weeks for the tests to know just what we have with this new variant . In the mean time will we see terrible figures coming out of these Countries which conveniently no one can visit to check on ? This might then lead to another 3 month lockdown thus crippling the economy even more. I wouldn't be surprised.
