Total have just sold their top quality oil for less than $2pb in Koruptistan so why would they go back there and invest $billions?

highlander7 made an accusation the other day about posters having multi aliases and yet he converses with his fellow rampers here who everyone knows run multi aliases. Proving yet again what a hypocrite he is?

highlander7 also made reference to a gas investment being made in Koruptistan and came out with a comment "so much for the gas issue".

What he's trying yet again to dismiss as not important and of no concern to the company and the hosts couldn't be more wrong as its already had a huge impact on the company.

Btw, if the field was any good why in the past 12 years hasn't anyone taken it? If Koruptistan was that great how is it that the Majors have left? How many companies have now failed out there trying to discover the hosts alleged 45b? How many companies have actually found a decent amount of oil out there in the past 12 years? How many companies have actually had to downgrade their Reserves out there?

The FDP and new CPR based on 3 % FP and all the extras that they left out last time and Shaikan shall be seen in all it's glory. Combined with the realisation that the World can't function without oil so a much higher POO and we have a M&A sweet spot. Maybe 6 months away ?

So the deal is 27 billion over 25 years with initial investment of 10 billion.
Wonder if any of the other 17 billion is to be spent in Kurdistan.
That would just about pay to buy us out.

French group TotalEnergies says it has signed an initial investment contract in Iraq worth 10 billion dollars. The 25-year deal will focus on building infrastructure to exploit oil, gas and solar energy.

TotalEnergies on Monday confirmed in a statement that the company will invest more than 8 billion euros in Iraq over the coming years.

The announcement of the deal, intended in part to reduce Iraq's reliance on fossil fuels, came after Iraq's Oil Minister Ihsan Ismail signed the contract at a Baghdad ceremony with TotalEnergies chief Patrick Pouyanné on Sunday.

"This agreement shows we are coming back to Iraq in a big way, to the country where our company was born in 1924," Pouyanné said.

The Iraqi government estimated the overall value of the contract at 23 billion euros.

That figure is a combination of expenses tied to the investment plus running costs. "We have enough revenue to cover these expenses," Pouyanné explained during the press conference on Sunday.

Total plans initially to invest 10 billion dollars in infrastructure, the proceeds of which will then allow a second round of investments of 17 billion dollars, officials said.
