Shafaq News / The Al-Fatah Parliamentary Bloc confirmed that the General Budget Law for 2021 will be voted upon by the end of this week, indicating that the Kurdistan Region’s share issue will be solved in the next few days.

MP of al-Fatah, Fadel Al-Fatlawi, said in an interview with Shafaq News agency, "meetings and negotiations are still ongoing between the political blocs and the Kurdish delegation to settle the share of the Kurdistan Region in the General Budget Law for 2021."

He added, "Intensive meetings will take place next Tuesday to settle the share of the Kurdistan Region in the budget law."

Last December, Baghdad, and Erbil reached an agreement on the financial budget, stipulating that the region should hand over 250 thousand barrels of oil per day, and half of the border crossings revenues (and other non-oil revenues) to the federal government, in exchange for a share in the budget of 12.6%.

They haven't set a date for FY results as yet, which is odd , as by now they would have normally , and of course all peers have done so several weeks ago.Could be just lazy administration, maybe its because other news may be in advance.Either way before or after, I expect some substantive updates as the company remains in a crazy but highly profitable limbo.They are generating a great deal of monthly free cash, they hold a large cash balance, and could access at least $200m more from debt facilities.But they choose not to use any of this to grow the business by increasing production, investing a paltry $20m 2021 capex.If POO continues its rise they may soon be generating that in free cash every month!So we will see some of these possibilities at or before FY results.Listed in my personal view of likelihood.Dividend 25-50 mBuyback in the market 50m plusA completion of an accelerated share repurchase agreement for up to 25% of issueDeal on 73m arrears possibly by an improved WI PSCFarm in and FDP approvalReserve based lending facility and FDP , GKP take it forward aloneSale of Shaikan as an asset in whole or part, re assigned operatorshipFriendly takeoverHostile approachLook forward to seeing what happens.

We're expecting the Full Year Results, of course there's a close period.

Oil Minister: A serious discussion with France's Total and Russia's Lukoil to build gas production plants 1614503250109










Shafaq News / Oil Minister, Ihssan Abdul-Jabbar confirmed today, Sunday, that gas production in the southern fields is more advanced than the center and the north.


Abdul-Jabbar said in an interview with Shafaq News: "The south has progressed more than the center and the north in terms of gas production," noting that "the south is working properly in this direction, even if it is late, but it is in the right direction."


He added that "there is a giant project led by the Basra Gas Company to build new facilities and it is under implementation. Its initial phase is to produce 400 million standard cubic meters and then later reach 1000 million standard cubic feet," noting that South Gas opened a serious discussion with the French company Total and Lukoil "Russian plants to construct plants with a capacity of 600 million standard cubic meters."


Abdul-Jabbar noted; To that "there is a project in Maysan governorate for a gas plant to produce 300 million standard cubic meters, with a completion rate of more than 20%," indicating that "Dhi Qar also has a project for a gas plant to produce 200 million standard cubic meters and it is in the stage of receiving the land and signed Contracts with the company and at the stage of opening documentary credits. "


Initial estimates by the Ministry of Oil indicate that Iraq possesses reserves estimated at 132 trillion cubic feet of gas, as about 70% of Iraqi gas is associated with extracting oil for processing, and Iraq is ranked eleventh among the countries in the world rich in natural gas.

SULAIMANI — Representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in Baghdad Fars Esa said on Sunday (February 28) that the KRG’s negotiators has reached an agreement with the Council of Representatives̵7; Finance Committee about the 2021 federal budget.



Esa told NRT reporter Hersh Qadir that the timing of a visit to Baghdad by a KRG delegation to seal the deal depends on when the Council of Representatives decides to meet to vote on the draft 2021 Federal Budget Law.


If the vote is scheduled for this coming Thursday, the delegation will travel on Tuesday.


Esa did not give details about the agreement and whether it differs in any way from previous reported agreements.

He said that the KRG is committed to the agreement, but warned that a number of political parties from the other ethno-sectarian blocs were trying to increase pressure on Erbil at the last minute.
