11/11/2007 15:24 | yes but stocks are cheaper now than in the last 30 years and property is a poor investment so I think the market will rally for the next few years. We are cheaper on a p/e ratio than in march 2003 | taffee
11/11/2007 14:47 | It's very traditional to get a rally this time of year. If we are going to plummet, it will probably be next year as we have had 4 consecutive years of rising stocks. | sat69
11/11/2007 09:36 | a few analysts calling for dow 15000 within a few months on cnbc | taffee
10/11/2007 14:49 | We touched 1175p intraday yesterday, and the share price bounced right off it. I'm surprised we broke 1200p, but it looks like the new support is 1175p. | sat69
10/11/2007 12:27 | ..are we enterring a pannick stage in this general market sell off (echoing 1987, and even last August before the fed made sigificant rate cuts)? If so, what could stop it (...are more rate cuts likely with inflation threats looming?), and how far down will this pull GSK? Unless things stabilise next week, then I fear that (a really horrible) Xmas of 1150 or much lower could indeed come early | bigtbigt
09/11/2007 13:57 | End of November!!! The way its going could easily be by Monday. God help us if anyone asks how do you spell Avandia within earshot of the mms Comes a point though when the eps must surely make it risky to short these any further. | benboy
09/11/2007 13:29 | Maintain my 1150 by Xmas - but the way it's going, Xmas might come very early i.e. end of November... | eisler
09/11/2007 11:44 | just bagged a bundle at 1179p - this is extremely funny, or should that be extremely serious ....? ; - < | aneeta bush
09/11/2007 10:23 | Sorry Inn, I can't help there. But at 1190p they are looking seriously undervalued. | sat69
09/11/2007 09:43 | Good morning, They now have 8.72% held in treasury, does anyone know what they did last time they reached 10%. Did they cancel them or move them into the pension fund? PSD | inntolife
09/11/2007 09:30 | Should be back over 1200p by the close. | sat69
08/11/2007 22:54 | BARC recovery tomorrow HB | sat69
08/11/2007 22:50 | Eisler - You're right - it's probably safer than having it with BARC, LLOY, RBS, A+L - all crashing. GSK recovery tomorrow... | sat69
08/11/2007 22:18 | "nothing is safe other than cash (as long as you don't have it in an account with NRK!)" Probably the safest place to have your cash at the moment! | eisler
08/11/2007 18:06 | The whole market is in turmoil - nothing is safe other than cash (as long as you don't have it in an account with NRK!) | sat69
08/11/2007 16:05 | Shorters getting a run for their money. Suspect a large player up against them. Also shorters will be rushing to close out their position as we look set for a trend reversal. Who's got the deepest pockets? - (North from now on IMO). Fasten seatbelts Dorothy - and trays in upright position for takeoff. DYOR | hiram abiff
08/11/2007 12:23 | how LOW can this baby gooooooooooooooo.... | aneeta bush
08/11/2007 09:23 | I see we dipped below 1200p intraday. Will close higher though. | sat69
08/11/2007 09:13 | not a black hole is just impossible to value level3 assetts..this should change when banks start trading with each other again. | taffee
08/11/2007 07:12 | Taffee The financial sector woes may prove to be a further drag on the FTSE. If Citigroup have already admitted a $11bn black hole, we know for sure that the UK banks will also have had to swallow some kind of a hit. As for GSK, and other drug majors, they will continue to pour money into r+d and produce new Billion Dollar drugs. sat | sat69
08/11/2007 07:05 | for all those expecting a massive correction.....may I remind you we have had one.....if the ftse100 was weighted ala 1987 it would have fallen 44% On a p/e ratio it sits on under 11...which is lower than the low in march 2003 The world economy seems to be growing okay | taffee
07/11/2007 20:25 | when there is a sell-off, normally most profitable positions are sold first. so when the credit crisis gripped the market again, i think miners and metals are the first to be sold. gsk is already well oversold and no one who open the positions a year ago will probably close their long positions. on that basis, i think further downside to pharmas are much much more limited than let's say miners. for example, look at gold price, it's up and up and up while equites are down and down and down. | watwungyi
07/11/2007 20:08 | Big With the DOW tanking (currently down 250 points) the FTSE will probably continue its slide tomorrow. Meanwhile, (as I believe) we may see punters switching to defensives. sat | sat69 |
