07/11/2007 18:48 | ...since we're making predictions: considering the range of seriously ominous global issues, and the general feeling that mega-pharmas are past their sell by date as a business model, I feel we may be entering a major market correction (FTSE down 10-20%) with GSK falling a similar amount. Hence, look out for £10 share price within next year or two (with 1150 by Xmas) ...sorry if that annoys, its my genuine assessment of things, whereas during the Avandia debacle I was holding to buy in at 1200 expecting a run up to 1400 (but missed the boat by 15p). How sure am I about all this - not sure enough to short the market or GSK, but starting to think about it | bigtbigt
07/11/2007 18:09 | MJ - Getting close to the mark innit! We may have an intraday break below 1200p, but I believe the big boys will come in and mop up, and the share buyback may even be increased. I therefore don't believe we will close below 1200p. sat | sat69
07/11/2007 15:49 | Sat69 24 Oct'07 - 12:37 - 5006 of 5061 "Current dividend yield is approx 4.2% - near an all time high. We won't be going below £12 - that's for sure. I think the Yanks will come in and support the share price It's all upside from here" Sat69 do you still think it will hold above £12. | mikejay
07/11/2007 13:06 | it is all about market manupulation and draining money in cleaver way | rosharif
07/11/2007 12:19 | Will be breach the £12 level today? Maintain 1150 by Xmas...dyor, gl etc | eisler
07/11/2007 10:50 | In volitile times, it's best to play safe. The safer option would be to put your money in defensive (drug) stocks, although it would be safer still as cash! | sat69
07/11/2007 08:13 | I was in for a small amount at 1229. but i could sell my dcg and buy this or meggit. dcg's result is due tomorrow. and i really don't know what i should do. i have confident in dcg's management and i think they will produce good int report. but you don't know how the market would react. | watwungyi
06/11/2007 18:01 | Cold be Watwun - Certainly heavily into oversold territory. I wish I had the funds to get back in. | sat69
06/11/2007 17:33 | Is this the bottom of a second bottom in double-bottom formation? | watwungyi
06/11/2007 12:49 | Phew - that was a close shave .....though couldn't resist the temptation to dive-in as a gsk virgin, ...prepared to brace myself for a long-term joy ride -fully accepting that fortune favours the prudent..and those that are ill in this case.. | aneeta bush
06/11/2007 09:10 | I have no idea why people bother investing in uk stocks.....they seem controlled by hedgehogs who seem intent on destroying shareholder value??? | taffee
05/11/2007 21:27 | At 1218p, closing near 30 month lows. At least they are continuing their buybacks. I'm certain that good news is just round the corner. Lets hope they don't cross below the 1200p level. sat | sat69
02/11/2007 18:40 | ah well - I was wrong - thought it would have been sub-1200 by close - wasn't far out though! Maintain sub-1150 by Xmas... | eisler
02/11/2007 16:39 | You would have thought there was an element of defensive play here today. Closed at a 3 year low. | sat69
02/11/2007 08:57 | gsk, azn and dcg all showing blue. i should be glad. the only annoying thing is rbs. down 4%. | watwungyi
01/11/2007 20:23 | More gloom tomorrow I'm afraid - DOW closed down 360 points. | sat69
01/11/2007 16:53 | Had I not bought BARC I too would have got back in at 1230p ish. Oh well tomorrow's another day. | sat69
01/11/2007 16:46 | i was out at 1247p as well. and in again at 1229. i thought about buying barc but instead i bought dcg at 585.5, the result is due next week. trading update looks good to me. on the negative side, sitting on a loss for azn. but the result seems alright to me. it should bounce back quickly. | watwungyi
01/11/2007 13:30 | Looks like I made a good move - out at 1247p, but I bought BARC with the proceeds, and now that's tanked too! | sat69
01/11/2007 11:46 | i think i've been doing ok for following one simple rule. Go against the crowd. I was shorting nrk when everyone seems to be bullish. and i was buying nrk perpetual bonds when its yielding amazing 22% and everyone is selling its shares. bonds were up 50% in a week. and still come with healthy perpetual coupon payment of 13.625p for 54p i paid. Can you believe that? now bonds are about 92p. still an attractive yield provided nrk won't go bankcrupt. | watwungyi
01/11/2007 11:41 | btw, i trade on idealing direct market access. it's good. but slightly expensive due to hidden costs. but if the value of your trade above #10K, then it's ok. and when the market becomes extremely volatile, like azn a second after its result came out, they proved their worth. | watwungyi
01/11/2007 11:39 | well i wish you had waited a bit longer. but look at azn. the result is good. it's not fantastic as i said earlier. market is increasingly challenging and the weak dollar all work agaisnt them. but on the positive side, they've got so much cash and the market has priced the difficult trading environment. but don't know to what extent they did factor in. i might keep holding azn and sell gsk soon. | watwungyi
01/11/2007 10:59 | Wat - I have an account with Barclays. Actually got 1247.35p, but note we have now moved a tad higher! | sat69
01/11/2007 10:55 | Now marketeers begin to see values in pharmas. And when people started to buy aggressively and pushed the share high, sell it and look for another distressed stuffs. | watwungyi |
