looking for a quick £1 a share

Up 18p and the FTSE down 60 points. Have the figures been leaked? Not complaining, hopefully after 12pm, there will be a further surge. Notice Astra Zeneca is down very sharply this morning- below £20.

results released to LSE at 12 noon - phoned them this morning

yes profits down is factored into the price I am expecting £12.75, in the next few days so not far off your estimate onehanded.

According to a short blurb on Kiwi radio tonight profits are expected to be down - but I guess that's already in the price?

Double bottom, share buyback to continue, just got a few first thing. Expect a jump £12.50.

I believe the results are normally released at 1000 (so the Yanks can also be accomodated!)

Did find this but I will wait until results are announced:

GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK LN): Europe's largest drugmaker may say fourth-quarter profit declined after patients abandoned its Avandia diabetes pill because of safety concerns. The shares added 6 pence, or 0.5 percent, to 1167.

L2 says announcement (1), however there isn't one. Tried GSK site and that resulted in having to register for a webcast. Anybody know when we will hear anything?

Their pipeline is reportedly very heavy, which is why medium/long term you cannot go wrong with these - its just that I'm a short term trader! :-)

GSK had less in the immediate pipe line in 2005 yet rose steadily, whereas at least now, they have something in the imminet pile with "orphan" status. I do at least see how brokers have come up with the asking prices that they have.

hmm, what concerns me, and I am not fully au feit with, is the auction, when a huge number of shares appear to have been offloaded. Often though JC talks about sales that are actually purchases so don't know whether I should be reading too much into it. We are oversold and under priced even on the "worst" analysts target price. Indicators suggest up, but like you say, who knows!

It's a tough call Hubs - Purely on the basis that these shares have been so heavily oversold, I would say that there is alot of bad news already factored into the sp, so I would call a big 'UP' tomorrow. But if I was certain, I would have bought in today!

Certainly a chartist would tell you that there is clearly a double bottom formed, which would also confirm there will be a big rise in the morrow.

Sat, very interesting discusion going on over on the other board about Wisteria, why anyone would spend their time on these boards discussing shares is beyond me :-)

Resisted the temptation to buy today ahead of tomorrows results. Good luck to all longs. There will be a strong movement tomorrow - just not sure which direction!
