POR: What slashed divi?

Afaiaa, the divi was adjusted to take into account the recent splitting off of HLN. Add the two divis together and they probably add up to the pre-split gsk divi. Not 100% sure, but in any case, no one sensible would say the divi has been 'slashed', imv. If you can't stand the heat etc. Oh, you already have left the kitchen.

I think you are referring to another reader, I have not left but as a long term hold divi investor continue to retain both GSK and HLN. But the slashed divi comment was mine. I suggest you should check before referring to factual matters because I think you are wrong.

Here's why
old GSK 2021 divi 80.00p
new GSK 2022 divi 57.75p

HLN 2022 divi 2.4p

Thus the total for the two for 2022 of 60.15p is below the old GSK 80p for 2021 by 24.8%. I'd call that slashed and so you are incorrect to claim that they "probably add up to the pre-split gsk divi" or that "no one sensible would say the divi has been 'slashed', imv."

Another way to look at it, which avoids the potential distortions of the share adjustments, is not at the divis per share but to compare the total cash income received by an investor like me who continued to hold throughout the demerger, with no voluntary shareholding changes. Without a doubt my income has been "slashed".

HLN paid only the final divi for 2022 and will likely pay both an interim and final for 2023 but it remains very unlikely that even then, the total income from both for 2023 will match that from old GSK for 2021.

I think the combined divi is something like 56 or 57p, so still a c. 30% reduction on the 80p we used to get. Some of that was raised by unsustainable borrowing and both companies still carry the legacy of that debt now.

GSK rumoured to introduce a new jab against shareholder depression caused by the long term falling share price, slashed dividend and increasing gargantuan debt.

have they done any good though i do wonder for most people as the jabs were hurried though so quickly and there has been damage to many people,we stopped having them even when they were offered.

the people most affected were younger ones,my 55 year old niece has just told me she has covid, this is uk by the way..

she has had before.

2 shots plus a single booster is the norm - unless the patient is immuno compromised in which case a second booster is administered. Boosters are due this autumn to address the latest variants (specifically higher risk groups).

I'm intrigued at how many Covid-19 vaccines people have had.

a)Have most just had two, then stopped.
b)Had two +1 booster
c)Had two + 2 boosters
d)Had only 1 Covid vaccine.
e)None.

I'm expecting 'most' to have had 4-5 vaccines, two original + 2 plus boosters given the age demographic slant of these boards to the middle/elder age groups with plenty of free time and money to invest / spend oodles of time on these bulletin boards.

Am wondering how representative this board/financial boards are of the country generally.

TIA

Yes, from 1 September 2023, those turning 65 and 70 will also be able to get the vaccine after their birthday, in addition to those already aged 70-80. Patients will be contacted by their GP practice when they become eligible.

Eligibility will then be expanded to include those 60 and up by September 2033.

Not sure this has been posted, but the nhs is lowering the age for a free shingles jab. I think, but not sure, that it's going from 70 to 65. Plenty of custom there if the gks drug gets on the nhs list quickly.

Covid and/or covid vaccine causing Shingles rise?

In a 2021 research reviewTrusted Source, experts examined reports of people getting shingles after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. They found that many people who got shingles after their vaccine had existing factors that can increase the likelihood of developing shingles. These factors include older adulthood, immunological disorders, and cancer.

Research shows that getting shingles after COVID-19 vaccines predominantly links with the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, including the ones that Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna produce.

Experts don’t yet know why the COVID-19 vaccines may increase the risk of shingles. It’s possible that it could happen due to immune system changes that happen after getting a vaccine.
