The token ceo is a dead loss-clueless. With treasury yields of 5%+ why buy this for a 4% divi (or even AZN). If she was any good-been there 5 yr+-the company would be paying 6% at least-that's why going nowhere fast.

Bought at 1370, sold at 1502, back in today when my limit order triggered at 1359 - all inside six months. Will it fall further? Your guess is as good as (probably better than) mine. At least GSK pays a dividend if it is long depressing wait !

But it is the vaccine (esp. COVID) makers that have fared the worst in the first half of 2023:

Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer (down 27%) is the worst-performing stock with a market capitalization over $200 billion due in part to a decline in Covid-19 vaccine sales; vaccine rival Moderna is similarly down 33%.

GSK completes acquisition of BELLUS Health

GSK plc (LSE/NYSE: GSK) and BELLUS Health Inc. (TSX/NASDAQ: BLU) today announced GSK has completed the acquisition of BELLUS, a biopharmaceutical company working to better the lives of patients suffering from refractory chronic cough (RCC), by way of a plan of arrangement in accordance with Section 192 of the Canada Business Corporations Act (the "Arrangement"). The Arrangement was approved by BELLUS' shareholders on 16 June 2023.

As previously announced, the acquisition of BELLUS includes camlipixant, a potential best-in-class and highly selective P2X3 antagonist currently in phase III development for the first-line treatment of adult patients with RCC.

In connection with the closing of the Arrangement, BELLUS also announced the cancellation of its annual shareholder meeting, which was scheduled for 30 June 2023.

Luke Miels, Chief Commercial Officer, GSK said: "The acquisition of BELLUS is highly synergistic with GSK's expertise in respiratory medicines and is further supported by GSK's leading R&D, manufacturing, and commercialisation capabilities. We are now focused on progressing camlipixant through phase III trials to offer a therapeutic option for RCC patients as soon as possible."

Following the anticipated regulatory approval and launch of camlipixant, the acquisition is expected to be accretive to adjusted EPS from 2027 and has the potential to deliver significant sales through 2031 and beyond.

IMO long term Home Oxygen Therapy will be a recognized treatment for Long Covid sufferers

When that happens the global market for oxygen concentrators will double --- and since new variants of Covid-19 continue --- so too does the number of long term sufferers with Long Covid.

This problem of Long Covid is NOT going away --- it is in fact getting worse

Plaques in the brains of Covid-19 patients have recently been identified, such similar plaques have also been identified in the brains of people suffering from dementia

SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, can produce short-term and long-term symptoms.
Researchers of a new study found that amyloids, the abnormal proteins that are also known to cause Alzheimer’s, could be formed during SARS-CoV-2 infection, which could explain some of the symptoms experienced.
The research suggests that the immune system’s interaction with SARS-CoV-2 may be leading to the production of these misfolded spike proteins, resulting in blood clots and neurological symptoms.

Market-wide malaise. Nothing GSK-specific to worry about right now. AIMO of course and touch wood!
Think markets are heading lower still, for a bit at least, so not tempted to add unless we lose circa a quid from the current share price Would rather see 15 quid first, so I can sell up though :) GLA.
