"Don't seem to be able to get Shingrix on prescription :0("

Must be pricey!
NHS prefers spending £50-60,000pa on diversity officers or £75,000-£100,000 on a director of talent management, or £100-110,000 pa on a Director for LIVED EXPERIENCE whatever the hell that is, than using money ot give patients treatments.

Spare a thought for Dame Emma Walmsley, who has spent five years on a thankless clean-up job at Glaxosmithkline (big pay packets aside). When the chief executive arrived, GSK’s future medicines cupboard was looking bare and the business was bloated.

Walmsley has tried to restore the company’s mojo by slashing costs, striking mega-deals and placing bets on cutting-edge science. This crescendoed with the separation of consumer business Haleon over the summer, leaving GSK focused on pure pharma. Yet the stock remains unloved, down 11pc this year compared to gains of around 30pc at archrival Astrazeneca.

The malaise is partly due to legal claims over heartburn drug Zantac in the US. But a favourable court ruling has taken out much of the heat there. So at £14.58 per share, I think GSK is a bargain. The company’s Shingles vaccine, Shingrix, is delivering record sales once again. And it is leading the race to launch a jab for RSV, pending regulatory approval in the coming months, which could also deliver blockbuster sales. Perhaps 2023 is Dame Emma’s year.

Put simply letsdothis is saying GLAXO and pharma are drug dealing scum then he pushes I gas!! Just shows how these weird people can happily push their own agenda. Fossil fuel extraction and burning is despised by some. Personally I sit on the fence with fossil fuels in cars as electric cars are not the answer. But back to glaxo ..

The healthcare sector is a sensible place to hunt for opportunities and pharmaceuticals group GSK is an attractive stock trading on a cheap valuation. Its shares are on 9.9-times forecast earnings for 2023, lower than the FTSE 100's 13.7-times and well below peers....
