Zoo I think the pressure from the general responsible population who take up the vaccine will grow to a level where vaccine passports become a necessity for everything where people are in close contact for long periods.
Other countries are moving in that direction.
Flying, cruises, theatre, gyms etc almost certainly.
The EU will have vaccine passports soon.
Good news on the effectiveness of the vaccines against variants this morning.UK death rates in single fugures, down over a thousand largely due to vaccines, extraordinary.
Anyone of reasonable intelligence who had any doubts about vaccines will change their minds when they see the latest data

You are quite correct. Options greatly exceed shares held in treasury. I have amended the model using the fully diluted figure published on the GFM website. Along with a couple of other tweeks I calculate eps for 2021 to be 0.29.

Of course I have to sound a health warning. The metal outputs in the model are calculated on the basis of the grades obtained in 2019. We will have to wait for the production report in July before coming to a more definitive estimate of the likely 2021 grades.

Alan, maybe Trump will be on the receiving end of a double tap at some point given some nutter will have a pop at him. Problem with Trump he's trying to emulate the Kennedy's which will never happen.More than 37.5 million people in the UK have now received their first dose of the jab - and 21.6 million second doses have been given so we are getting there. I'm still hoping the vaccine passport will be introduced for flying, cruises, large events and further things.Zoo

Thanks for the figures everybody it’s helpful and interesting.Like many on here I hold a lot of Greatland too but my biggest holding is EMH they have just successfully produced battery grade lithium carbonate.
An off take is due possibly end of June & with Tesla & all within striking distance it could be tasty.
The LSE board has good posters that like me have been there years & there is a link to the latest interview with MD Keith Coughlan.
There is also 263000 tons of tin, which is nice

Zoo, The A sage, Alan et al. Mid June will be the 2020 full year accounts and c. 23 July the H1 trading update which should give an excellent insight into the direction of travel and also help TheA refine his projections for FY 2021 and 2022. Other things being equal I am also hopeful the H1 results will drive a decent push to the share price - £1.75 would be my finger in the air guess. It should also give us a new floor and create a new trading range throughout H2 - perhaps £1.60 - £1.90 taking us through to early 2022 by when there should be a visible trend in both production volumes and commodity prices.

Alan, we are just in that period of having to wait for some updates which can be frustrating to say the least. At the rate we are having to wait some of us will be having their Wills read so lets hope things happen sooner rather than later. :-)Zoo

Mr Bee, you are not alone. We get this situation on a frequent basis for clients. Lots of elderly want to move money out of their estate fairly quickly but still receive income. An income generating Aim portfolio does this but would not currently include GFM.

I haven't included the options in the model. Without checking I assumed the shares held in treasury would cover them. I'll check and update the model if necessary.

You are quite correct regarding the IHT market. GFM forms a part of my IHT planning because of it's IHT tax exempt status. Also the current tax regime allows me to give away any genuine surplus income without it being subject to the 7 year rule. A dividend would give me a double whammy in this respect.

I imagine I'm not alone in thinking along these lines.

zoo good luck to you, I probably would of done the same as you but I am now to old to mess about with it all now, not a very good day for me today it’s what I come to expect every Friday, MATD is just jumping up and down on the spot the same as GGP, once again I will have to wait until Monday and hope there is a spark, the tide is really rough out there it’s lovely to watch, good luck,

Thanks MWF and TheA, I'm just catching up... I was going to offer to do the excel work, but you have. The only thought I had was how much difference do the options make? I'm guessing no more than 10%, so not that big a factor. Great work, thank you.

re the divi, I'm not fussed really. They can afford it soon, i agree. This is still a company operating in China and based in Bermuda or Cayman or somewhere daft (great in other ways of course). So I'm not convinced we'd be over run with institutions buying in because it is a divi payer. We'll get our returns, or most of them.... an extra 3% pa won't make much difference if we get the share price we hope for.

Had my second jab today, great to tuck it away and get on with life.

I've resisted buying any more for now, like Zoo I feel we are into drift territory, the professional number crunchers don't appear to have had any effect. Maybe they need it to be a bit more obvious yet.

There may or may not be more softness, i think there might be, so I may buy more later, I am over weight GFM, so I find it easier to try to look big picture. Is all the good news baked into the general market? INflation fears will increase for a bit, so I wonder if we might get a correction which might provide opportunities. I can't decide so am sitting on hands.

I still recommend the filter button, it makes it much quicker to catch up and those I find most filterable rarely add other shares/thoughts to the pot, so I don't think I miss anything. And if anything useful is said, others pick up on it. OK OK OK, that makes me like someone that doesn't get the jab and just freeloads :))

Alan, EL and me both hold roughly the same amount in our portfolios so when we bought it was any spare cash in the ISA not currently in shares. So we've sold half today I fact sold mine she still holds hers thus if it goes up we grab it and down we catch it. It worked on the last run so just see how it goes this time round. Either way we still hold.Zoo
