My in depth analysis suggests the Interims will be out on the 8th hour of the 8th day of the 8th month of the 8th year. - Be Lucky!

I must say that "stay tuned" does seem an unusually optimistic way to end an RNS. It may be that interims are waiting until something more concrete can be added, though the board are never really ones to say more than they need!

I would have thought it would be perfectly feasible for BoD to initiate a small div if they so wish and signal a willingness to approve small incremental rises over time, as a minimum.

Given the margins over production costs, even if zinc continues to decline any new funding requirements should be manageable.

Sage/porgy. It is correct to say we don’t have a mining license for zone11. While I agree that it is probably a racing certainly we know how long it took to get to this stage and we can but hope the license will be forthcoming shortly. Sage you didn’t answer my question as to the costs of taking zone11 to production. Would be grateful for your guesstimate if you have one.
The fate of the share price lies completely in the announcement of the interims. No dividend an no meaningful statement on the current trading will lead to a correction On a dividend declared and further news on the zone and current conditions we could well have a meaniful hike. Paying a dividend opens the door to many Institutions which, on the whole, have ignored the company for so long

i think there is a lot of uncertainty about how long it will take to get production flowing from zone2 and the cost of development. It would be good if the upcoming results could provide as much detail as possible to let us evaluate the business more accurately. I am not too bothered about dividends per se, though I do believe they help support the share price, and so would like to see them for that reason. But if we get a clear statement of how the company is going to use the profits it is generating then I will be happy.

Sageman Please igmore all these gloom makers we know we are on a winner with GFM ,also they would NOT have made the statement announcing the granting of the licence after waiting 4 years I regret to say these posters are jealous of the gains of us long term holders

PS Yes millwallfan would be great to meet up sometime with you and Sage

Sage
Glad to hear you confirm that Zone 2 licence is a formality

In what month will it be granted then?

Indeed there are many posters who on the face of it believe that they alone are the voice of reason and have the ear of the BOD. The reality is that they have an opinion and the "facts" are derived from the track record of the BOD to date.

I think I'm sensible/logical enough to know that anything I post on this BB will not move the share price - I neither ramp or deramp - I only express my opinion.

I only currently have a small "punt" stake here, I'd like to invest more as the business looks attractive on quantitative measures, but need the dividend situation sorted out. Whilst not agreeing with opodio, part of the KAZ collapse last week was due to the market seeing the possibility of a dividend evaporate. This is a risk.

I didn't think I had to specify that the mining licence I was talking about was for zone II - I'm long in the tooth enough to know that you should rely on nothing as "a formality" in the stock market and I reiterate none of the financial details are known but that's secondary to the above.

You like GFM and have considerable belief in the BOD - I get that and you're entitled to your opinion. But so am I.

Podgy, You said does not have a mining license. It does and has been mining for years! Zone 2 license is also now a formality. I am unsure why you persist in constantly negative posting. I can only assume that therise caught you out and you want to buy lower. Typical derampers strategy. Don’t know why you bother. If zinc tanks and/or if GFM screw up the statement with the results you will get plenty of opportunities. Phill, I think you will find that the bod have far bigger plans for this co than what you think. Hence the need to spend. I await the RNS and will not comment until I have seen it.

I think it's fair comment to say that part of the KAZ fall was the market's high expectation of a dividend being dashed.

BTW Griffin does not yet have a mining licence and I, for one, would like to see the financial terms connected to it before jumping for joy.

opodio - Get your facts right:-
Kaz Minerals has revealed plans to buy a Russian copper project for £689 million from a consortium of investors led by Roman Abramovich, the billionaire owner of Chelsea Football Club. The London-listed copper mining group said the Baimskaya project, in Chukotka, in the most eastern region of Russia, had the potential to become a large-scale open pit copper mine.

Investors were spooked by the size of the purchase, however, and Kaz shares fell by 28 per cent to 587¾p.

I have to say sageman you have turned me from a griffin moaner into griffin positive,I'm not to concerned about a dividend I would rather they would spend all the money on phase two which will make them a much stronger company,I am aware that if they don't pay a dividend the share price will drop but hopefully it will be short term, many thanks
