a good mention...
A newcomer to the pundit's list is TSX and AIM listed Greystar Resources. Well known gold bug, John Embry gave Greystar the thumbs up sign and with a multi-million ounce gold resource in Colombia it is little wonder. At May 2004 the Angostura deposit held 2.1 million ounces of gold and seven million ounces of silver in the indicated category, plus another 4.1 million ounces of gold with 13 million ounces of silver in the inferred section. From 1995 through to the end of 2004 some 92,510 metres of drilling in 302 holes have been completed on the property. Attracting the interest is recent drill results that suggest that a resource expansion is highly probably. In fact, the resource estimate was calculated on a 1.1km north-south length, and that the vein-like structures, breccias and fault zones that host the mineralization now extend over 2.5km. This extension still needs to be proved up with the drills but from a speculative standpoint, you can do the math.

just catching up with canada fri close.

however, you can pick up the b shares (gslb) at a 20p discount this morning ie 160 compared to 180p! they will turn into gsl in mid march when they will also become tradable on tsx. and you get a half warrant thrown in for free with each one.

Greystar Resources Ltd.: Angostura Target Expands by one Square Kilometre

(TSX:GSL)(AIM:GSL)(AIM:GSLb) reports that a large gold-in-soil geochemical anomaly has been outlined some 800 metres northeast of the previously defined resource on its wholly-owned multi-million ounceAngostura gold-silver deposit in northeastern Colombia.

The 1-square kilometre Cristo Rey gold anomaly lies immediately northeast and appears to tie into the Veta de Barro area, where recent drilling has intercepted impressive values some 325 metres north of the main zone of the deposit (Press Release Jan. 11, 2005). The new gold anomaly is marked by eight anomalous trends with the most prominent feature being a series of three parallel NW-SE trending anomalies that occur in the center of the survey area. Each of these anomalies extend for more than 600 metres in length with anomalous soil values ranging from 100-to-200 parts per billion gold within a weaker zone of 10-to-100 parts per billion gold. Selected rock chip samples in the anomalous area returned from 0.55 gram gold per tonne to 14.41 grams gold per tonne.

At the central quadruple juncture of the anomalies, a 250-by-250 metre area of anomalous gold-in-soils suggests that this area could correspond to the loci of the intersection of a number of structures. This phenomenon is very common to the south in both the Veta de Barro area and the main Angostura deposit. A rock chip sample from this junction returned 6.48 grams gold per tonne.

Highlights of the rock chip samples include:

The Cristo Rey anomaly indicates the potential for contiguous expansion of the large Angosturamineralizing system to the northeast. In the Veta de Barro area where two drill rigs are turning, mineralization is still open to all directions, including to the south where the mineralizationappears to tie into the adjoining La Alta area of the Angostura deposit and now similar style of
mineralization has been identified further to the northeast where the Cristo Rey area holds the potential to tie into the Veta de Barro area.

The Cristo Rey area is being further defined by additional infill geochemical soil lines and rock chip sampling which must be completed before drilling can commence.

In total, there are eight diamond drill rigs on the property, including one being currently utilized underground. Mineralization at Angostura is hosted in vein-like structures, breccias and fault zones that have now been extended in the north-south direction to nearly 2.5 km in one area, a significant increase from the 1.1 km used in the resource estimate. Based on data compiled up to May 31, 2004, the Angostura deposit hosts 2.1 million ounces of gold with 7 million ounces of silver in the indicated category, plus another 4.1 million ounces of gold with 13 million ounces of silver in the inferred section (Press Release July 13, 2004).

ummm...

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 11, 2005) - Greystar Resources Ltd.
(TSX:GSL)(AIM:GSL)(AIM:GSLb) reports that the 2004 drilling program has greatly enhanced the potential for significantly increasing the already multi-million ounce gold resource on its wholly-owned Angostura gold-silver property in northeastern Colombia.

Most particularly is the Veta de Barro area, where drilling has intercepted impressive values some 325 metres north of the previously defined resource. So far, the first four holes at Veta de Barro have tested a portion of the 450-by-500 metre mineralized footprint, which is contiguous to the north of the 1,000-by-1,000 metre main Angostura deposit. The results include:

- Hole VB04-02 returned 42.5 grams gold per tonne and 252.9 grams silver per tonne over 5.7 metres (reported Nov. 16, 2004).

- Hole VB04-03 returned 5.91 grams gold per tonne and 19.7 grams silver per tonne over 4 metres (reported Dec. 7, 2004).

- Hole VB04-04 returned 9.7 metres grading 6.39 grams gold per tonne and 13.8 grams silver per tonne over 9.7 metres (reported Dec. 7, 2004), plus 26 metres grading 4.33 grams gold per tonne and 43.38 grams silver per tonne (new).

- Hole VB-05 returned 38.7 metres grading 3.23 grams gold and 26.6 grams silver per tonne (new).

The mineralization at Veta de Barro is still open to all directions, including to the south where the mineralization appears to tie into the adjoining La Alta area of the Angostura deposit.

In the La Alta area, definition drilling continues to yield favourable results with hole AL04-20 returning 6.9 metres grading 4.02 grams gold per tonne and 42.36 grams silver per tonne.

Moving down to the southern part of the deposit, drilling in the Silencio area also returned good results with hole SI04-17 yielding 36 metres grading 2.14 grams gold per tonne and 6.16 grams silver per tonne in Vein 362, while hole SI04-18 yielding 17 metres grading 1.64 grams gold per tonne and 21.88 grams silver per tonne in Vein 301.

The latest results from the underground drilling program intersected repeated moderate grade with the best results coming in hole USI04-05, which returned 10.74 grams gold per tonne and 8.79 grams silver per tonne over 5.7 metres.

The latest drill results include:

Phase 2 Program

The 2004 portion of the Phase 2 drilling program is now complete with 92,510 metres in 302 holes having been drilled at Angostura since 1995 and 88 holes comprising 30,667 metres completed in 2004. Phase 2 drilling will continue into 2005.

New Programs

Going forward, the potential to greatly increase the known gold resources on the Angostura property has prompted Greystar to accelerate exploration activities. In addition to the remaining drilling required under the Phase 2 Program, the 2005 Exploration Program will include a new 20,000 metre drill
program in the Veta de Barro area, definition work on the over 70 high-grade shoots, and drill testing of other highly promising targets on the property. The Veta de Barro program will include 60 drill holes aimed at testing the full extent of the mineralized footprint, while the regional targets will
include the 1,000-by-750 metre soil geochemical anomaly in the Violetal area.

To aid in completing the new program in a timely fashion, Greystar has purchased an additional HAGBY 1500 drill, which left Miami on January 7 and the drill contractor is bringing in another Long Year 38 machine for the Angostura project. These two new machines together with the adaptation of Greystar's
Atlas Copco Diamec 283 will increase to the number of drill machines working the property to nine.

Mineralization at Angostura is hosted in vein-like structures, breccias and fault zones that have been extended in the north-south direction to 1.6 km in one area, a significant increase from the 1.1-km used in the original resource estimate for that location.

A location map of the Angostura drilling, along with a map of the underground tunnel work, can be accessed from our home page link at Greystar's website.

interesting...
The pundits see mergers and acquisitions in the gold industry ramping up because of a disparity of valuations and the need for size and liquidity to appeal to larger investment firms. This means that many are calling for the bigger boys to get back to the acquisition table after cooling their heels in 2002 and 2003. Most often mention to make good take -out candidates are Agnico-Eagle, Bema Gold, and Wheaton River on the producer side, and Gabriel Resources, NovaGold, Linear Gold, Greystar Resources and Crystallex International on the exploration side.

rns - placing was taken up to max ie 7m units (glsb) issued.

...Each Unit consists of one common share (a "Unit Share") and one-half of one transferable common share purchase warrant (a "Warrant"). Subject to the Company's acceleration right described below, each whole Warrant entitles the holder to purchase one common share (a "Warrant Share") at a price of Cdn$4.00 (currently £1.79) per share on or before November 17, 2006. If, at any time after March 19, 2004, the closing price of the Company's common shares is above CDN$5.00 (currently £2.24) for 20 or more consecutive days, the Company has the right, on notice to the warrant holders, to accelerate the expiry date of the warrants to 20 business days following the date of such notice.

Of the total 7,000,000 Units issued, 3,250,000 Units (the "UK Placing Units") were placed outside of Canada by Ocean and 3,750,000 Units (the "Canadian Placing Units") were placed by Jennings and Canadian sub-agents.

Due to Canadian resale restrictions, neither the Units nor the Warrant Shares may be traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange or otherwise sold in Canada or to or for the benefit of a resident of Canada before March 19, 2005 unless permitted under Canadian securities legislation and the rules of the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The Unit Shares will, however, trade on a restricted basis on AIM market during this period. In order to distinguish the Unit Shares from the Company's existing common shares during this restricted period, the Unit Shares will have the ISIN "CA 3979134010" and will trade on the AIM market under the symbol "GSLb".

The Company's existing common shares, which have the ISIN "CA 3979132030" and trade under the symbol "GSL", carry no such restrictions. After March 19, 2005, the Unit Shares will assume the ISIN "CA 3979132030", will trade under the symbol "GSL", and there will be no resale restrictions in Canada.

The Company currently has other common shares trading on a restricted basis on the AIM market under ISIN "CA 3979133020" which trade under the symbol "GSLa". After December 5, 2004, these shares will assume the ISIN "CA 3979132030", will trade under the symbol "GSL" and there will be no resale restrictions in Canada.

I liked the presentation and I think they have a very large amount of gold, though not at a high average grade. A six million oz resource with six rigs working is impressive. Dave said in the presentation, if I got it down right, that the Anaconda area, which I can't see in the material in the link, is another Angostura. Then there's the Cristo Rei and more. I like it a lot.
