GNK haven't cut their dividend as far back as the eye can see (including the darkest days of 2008/9) and I can't see them starting now.

450 = PER around 7x and a divi yield of 7.4% based on historic (2018) adjusted eps/div.

I don't think so.

* Berenberg says main issues facing GNK are poor value-for-money offer, recurring charges and dividend that consumes over 100% of free cash flow
* "In the short term, we think that cutting the dividend, as well as more 'investment' into the P&L, are both necessary – and neither would be taken well in the short term," brokerage says

Just in the last few weeks I've noticed more efficient management in my local. The brewery has more or less stopped sending guest ales leaving a choice only of Greene King or national brands. Staff numbers have been cut back and housekeeping like keeping the car park tidy has improved a lot. I'm not a shareholder but these are good signs of a focus on profitability and are consistent with the recent share price performance.
