11/7/2020 16:54 | Proton and Timber You have hit it straight to the point with technicals , which keeps us re-assured that we are on a long journey and not just Hav or even Scally but much more beyond to other tenements. Thxs for educating us on different types of drilling , the knowledge of which will be useful for researching mining stocks which in itself is a minefield. You are not a geologist are you?? In fact over last 2 days i was in a fix with my last bit of created dosh from sale of some other shares ( at 10 to 15percent loss ) - as to where to invest more in GGP or Eurasia. But guess where i leaned to keeping the long GGp journey in mind. 2/3rds went into GGp top up and one third in EUA. Not sure if EUA is overbrought at 17p, time will tell. Staying till the last leg of GGp journey would be my plan as like other LTHs. | kumarm77
11/7/2020 15:09 | Proton and Timberwolf ,your posts makes my job so much easier ,through both of you I’m well up together with GGP , thank you both ,hope all here other stupid posters are gone for good , | alangriffbang
11/7/2020 15:06 | Excuse me knowledgeable chaps...... Do you expect we'll see a good share price price (20p/25p+) this year or am I expecting too much? | ggpwinner
11/7/2020 14:47 | Timber, I`m happy as long as we all make a few bob here. | pr0t0n
11/7/2020 14:38 | pr0t0n, your research is impeccable! Hoping not to sound patronising, but, seriously, thanks for your usual and ongoing valuable input here. My research goes back around 2-3 years with regards GGP, and I can bring 'some' information up when required, but putting a finger on most of your stuff is at another level, by far! I just hope that people on this forum appreciate this as much as I do! | timberwolf
11/7/2020 14:19 | kumarm77. My understating is that they used the wrong drill rigs, diamond drills should have been used. See here , they were about 100 meters short. GGP`s drilling campaign was operated by DD1 @ Havieron before Newcrest came on board. I believe they will be drilling all targets @ Scallywag DDH1 Drilling operates the newest and most standardised drilling fleet in Australia to perform Diamond Core drilling. Our crews are well trained and have experience in all different aspects of core drilling including: Deep hole – core to 3,000 metres Multiple intersection drill holes Predictable directional drilling Surface coring Underground coring | pr0t0n
11/7/2020 13:49 | It's been difficult to always read gold's journey too, don't you think? Now inflation is back on the cards, gold is more desirable I believe. IMO | hazl
11/7/2020 13:31 | Scally as a potential world class project Thanks proton for the 2008 exploration results. When Newmont previously gave up the project in the past, was it not due to lack of the current state of art drilling at depth equipments?? If so it should be easy with current tech , to get through the thick Permian layer down to the potential target at depth in Scally . From GHs positive sounding statement it appears they are already geared up to the expected positive exploration / drilling results due in 6 to 8 weeks IMO. The results at Hav are almost given , and most of the team as you said appear to be looking fwd for Scallywags 3 targets - can't wait, if my assumptions are correct | kumarm77
11/7/2020 11:34 | Yes but they were priced to go bust when they hit 0.4p. They now have £750k cash and two potential JVs for Baileston and Creswick. Nothing is certain but if it comes off even 1.6p could be cheap. | brasso3
11/7/2020 11:24 | They have already had a very sharp rise. | imperial3
11/7/2020 11:02 | O/T Have any of you guys taken a look at ECR minerals who have assets in Victoria. There is lots of talk that a JV is coming with Newmont for the Creswick license. The market cap is only £9m | brasso3
11/7/2020 08:33 | Financing key for SolGold's aim to become a copper giant Mining Journal - 10th July 2020 A very good listen if you get a chance!! Nick Mather, CEO of SolGold talks about the 'relationship' with Newcrest Mining from time point 14:45 - 19:15 and makes some interesting comments. There doesn't seem to be a great deal of love lost between them. ;-) One telling comment from Mather, "...I think the view that major's have had about junior's, up until very recently, are that junior's are the short term custodians of major's assets. We certainly don't view it that way. It's our asset and if they want it they'll have to pay for it..." | timberwolf
11/7/2020 08:09 | And is Scally a bust or another world class asset - or something in between? ==================== malcontent, Hope for the best once drill start turning:-) Here is the old review/report by Newcrest, thanks to Mr Paddy. EXPLORATION 2008 - 2009 4.1 Aircore Drilling • Aircore drilling was carried out at the Terringa prospect to test the depth of Permian cover, interface and saprolite geochemistry over an interpreted antiform feature Neighbouring magnetic datasets suggests the antiform is unique to the area in terms of size and orientation. The magnetic units responsible for the antiform (quartzite) show signs of offset along WNW structures. There appears to be a very subtle magnetic high extending along the interpreted axial plane of the fold. This magnetic source may be caused by pyrrhotite or magnetite alteration related to a similar, Havieron style alteration system or an IOCG system. A line of 12 holes was planned to provide a cross section across the zone of interest. Unfortunately with the depth of Permian cover encountered the drill was not able to penetrate into the underlying Proterozoic rocks and all holes terminated still within the Permian cover. When it became apparent that the cover sequence was too thick for the drilling equipment used the program was stopped with only 4 (481 metres) of the planned 12 holes completed. Rock types encountered within the Permian sequence included mudstone /siltstone with minor sand and cobbles of other rock types CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS Because of the depth of cover, drill testing of the targets was unable to be carried out and so the viability of the project was reassessed and it was concluded that its prospectivity did not meet our current requirements and in consequence it was decided to terminate the project and surrender the tenement. | pr0t0n
11/7/2020 07:58 | SSR-Alacer Gold merger gets shareholder approval SSR Mining (TSX: SSRM) and Alacer Gold (TSX: ASR)(ASX: AQG) announced Friday the receipt of shareholder approvals for the previously announced at-market merger. In May, Vancouver-based SSR Mining agreed to a deal to acquire its Canadian counterpart in an all-stock, zero-premium deal valued at C$2.4 billion ($1.7 billion). | pr0t0n
11/7/2020 07:09 | Yeah, Proton, I do think that Newcrest are rubbing their hands with the business they have got at Haveiron, although the price was probably fair at the time the deal was struck I see 2 factors that should determine where GGP goes from here 1. Gold price - we are sitting at all time (dollar) highs - will gold bust through and see blue sky? THe macro situation says it does, but this is a weird world and timing, as ever, is often unpredictable. I am long Gold, but you often need a lot of patience to get your money... 2 . even more pertinently- what's in the ground at Haveiron, exactly? And is Scally a bust or another world class asset - or something in between? I like the way Heddle is running the show - decent management is always vital , and as in armed conflict, it's always so much easier to mess things up than just stay calm and sensible and get the best possible result. | malcontent
10/7/2020 16:30 | I, you are correct in one sense about an offer, however I suspect they are happy to pay more but have the reassurance in that they will know what they are buying with regard to whats in the ground. Zoo | zooman
10/7/2020 16:18 | Imperial, They just don`t make an offer on a whim. PFS first! They ( NCM) have to consider their shareholders /II`s/ banks ...etc. All these institutions need to see a concrete numbers. It just doesn't happen overnight/ | pr0t0n
10/7/2020 16:11 | TEL, They`ve got a bargain for $65 million for 70% - Newcrest I mean. Suits GGP as well, let them do all hard work :0-) There is no way that GGP could have done all this `heavy lifting` and drilling. Looking forward to Scally`s targets...Kraken, London and BlackBeard ! Drilling to commence next month. 100% ownership, see what happens/ | pr0t0n
10/7/2020 16:02 | Should have said why do NCM not make an offer. Sorry. | imperial3
10/7/2020 16:00 | If that turns out to be the case why do NCM make an offer. The longer the wait the grater the price they will have to pay,not that I am complaining. Now if the gold price surges that just adds extra to the conundrum. | imperial3
10/7/2020 15:37 | @proton. I bet the execs at NCM could not believe their luck when the assays from HAV just kept rolling in better and better, imagine all the copper content as well as the gold...13 days before another massive amount of good news heading our way. | telbap
10/7/2020 14:19 | Yes, all talk about gold but copper has been moving as well. If I remember correctly Callum Baxter stated that copper grades are 0.8 g/t au when converted ( equivalent) ==================== Copper in London reached $6,360 a ton at one point on Thursday, the highest since May 2019, before slipping back to $6,300. Mining companies able to keep up output are reaping the benefits. Freeport-McMoRan Inc., the world’s largest publicly traded copper company, said Monday that it sold about 8% more copper in the second quarter than it forecast earlier in the pandemic. | pr0t0n
10/7/2020 14:12 | gold about to test the recent highs again GGP lagging got to move past 13p soon | stockhunters
10/7/2020 13:40 | Yep I made a nice lump .....had a SB stock since Feb I think, git to admit thought o would lose a packet when they did not find a new nomad, right down to the 11th hour before share price angels came on board. Made another lump today....v happy made up losses on NSF and SOU | telbap
10/7/2020 13:30 | I should imagine many traders, chasing EUA since yesterday. Possibly some having sold out of here for a quick profit there. Can't blame anybody for doing it and I wish EUA holders the very best, but I am not sure about the risks there, so I am staying put in GGP. | daddy warbucks |
