03/8/2015 17:38 | Although Malaysia’s currency has tumbled back to where it was in the late 1990s, the reasons this time around are rather different. Headlines in the country have been dominated for weeks by allegations surrounding 1MDB, the state investment fund. At one point earlier this year it looked set to default on its dollar debts, and is now under investigation over claims of large-scale misappropriation. Prime Minister Najib Razak himself has been drawn into the saga, following allegations that he received $700m in payments made by 1MDB, something he has vigorously denied. Hope this helps | bad robot

03/8/2015 13:44 | Cannot blame too much on GRPH for AIM lack of regulation on shorting thinly traded shares this is the problem they even have had a bot working hard shorting on GRPH a company of this size unbelievable but that is the madness on AIM, to be honest they have grown the business and increased turnover to the point they are profitable but are still investing more on product launches the market price of the graphene they produce is worth multiplies of todays market cap alone. We have 2 of the original start up directors from PURE running GRPH and I have no worries of corporate governce here, also the 2 non execs are experienced individuals with good credentials . | wskill
03/8/2015 13:08 | It is too easy to manipulate the price of small company shares, and in the case of GRPH even more so as there is virtually nil institutional interest. In addition, its a graphene business, which attracts interest from people thinking graphene is the next big thing - which it isn't - and also it's a Malaysian business. My only comment on the last point is that my personal experience of companies based there is not good, and that includes governmental actions also. In short, unless you are a gambler willing to bet a little and forget it for a year or more, buying or holding here is not the best option right now, IMHO. | andrewbaker
02/8/2015 22:13 | As is usual on AIM the shorts win that is the game they play and the reason very few investors will buy AIM listed shares.I used to buy only on AIM but am invested mostly on FTSE shares now this market will go the same way as the previous incarnation USM and close it is run for the shorts and MM benefit only and I would advise all private investors to steer clear. | wskill

30/7/2015 10:15 | Cross fingers that GRPH picks up on this news Hope this helps MARKETSMalaysian shares up after longest slump in 2 years 4 hours ago URL Malaysian shares are pulling themselves out of their longest funk since at least the start of this year. The Kuala Lumpur Composite is up 0.3 per cent at 1,704.7 at lunch, and has climbed higher through the morning in one of those controlled, 45-degree-line gains, writes Peter Wells. To Wednesday's close, the Malaysian benchmark had fallen for six days in a row, and given up 2.1 per cent in that time. Additionally, today is just the second gain in 10 sessions. The previous six-day losing streak was from December 30 to January 7. For something longer, you'd have to go back to August 2013. The index is now down 3.2 per cent year-to-date, and down 9.9 per cent from a record high close of 1,892.7 in August 2014. There's been plenty of attention given to the controversy surrounding Malaysia's state investment company, 1MDB, and the resulting political crisis. But the economy may have bigger fish to fry. | bad robot |
