05/9/2017 21:03 | When gold goes mainstream a lot of investors will prefer an IT than individual stocks and this will trade at a premium to nav not currently as it is a discount. | killary cunton
05/9/2017 15:02 | Silver punching new highs this afternoon and gold doing well too. I notice GDXJ is also approaching nearly 2% up as well this morning. You could always try JNUG if you're a psycho which I think is effectively GDXJ with 3x gearing. | phoebusav
05/9/2017 13:34 | North America is as safe as it gets not Africa that is for sure. Ok small miners take time to recover it's been a bear market in their neck of the woods for some time.CEY in Egypt not sure if it is better than Africa director has been selling for some time now and Egyptian as well. With present discount GPM is well worth present price of insurance for my portfolio. | wskill
05/9/2017 10:57 | I've said before that I dont understand this IT. Small gold miners (reduced risk of single mining disaster) mainly in North America & Oz( so little political risk). Seems ideal Gold hedge............. until you review the actual history of the share. It's shocking, 1 year - 20%, gold up 3% both in GBP Once again I'm looking for a reason to 'protect' against Trump& his mate Kim, and once again i can't bring myself to buy this. Can anyone offer a positive view? PS I already hold HOC & CEY which both seem miles better for long term hold / defensive | joy division still
04/9/2017 10:56 | Very interesting article on www.silvershortsquee | davebowler
04/9/2017 10:31 | Cannot say Gpm is an expensive hedge against a market upset on the contrary it's well undervalued at the moment. I would expect it to move to a premium to net assets not the large discount as weve have at present. I have increased my holdings in precious metals to 25% of my portfolio. | wskill

29/8/2017 18:07 | interesting stock. clearly au broken above $1308. see how the week goes - i can see GP springing up with a good wind behind it. | dingo75
29/8/2017 17:25 | yep, 700k shares is a whopper! tomorrow's NAV print should be interesting. | llef
29/8/2017 16:55 | Second highest daily volume in the last 9.5 months. Looking good. | phoebusav
29/8/2017 15:48 | And not far off being the second highest volume day of 2017. | phoebusav
29/8/2017 15:27 | the bid offer is 34 - 34.5, but i just tried buying 5k shares and HL were unable to retrieve a quote for me (could sell 5k for 34.12) the volume today is almost 500k shares, so maybe MM are short of stock? | llef
29/8/2017 10:24 | And last time gold price was this high GPM was in the 42-58p range. Plenty of miners on the move this morning. | phoebusav
29/8/2017 10:15 | and now up to 314k shares today. gold making further progress too, so its looking positive... for a change!! | llef
29/8/2017 09:17 | Indeed. GDXJ did nicely yesterday while we were closed. This looks like the best entry point in ages especially in the run up to the US debt ceiling deadline in a month. If gold or the miners move any higher this will suddenly start to surge as the NAV-SP elastic looks ready to snap. | phoebusav
29/8/2017 08:59 | quite a lot of volume traded today too - 170k shares traded by 9am | llef
29/8/2017 08:23 | Looks like a perfect falling wedge pattern setting itself up for a breakout upwards. | ohisay
29/8/2017 08:19 | SPGP (big gold miners etf) is up nearly 4% today. gold has broken out too. GPM NAV was over 40p at last reval - if the above levels hold, then should be near 42p at cob today! | llef
25/8/2017 00:18 | We are likely on the verge of a major rally in precious metal stocks. GPM could outperform over the next several weeks. Next stop $1320 or so, gold. | dogberry202000
23/8/2017 16:31 | You need to hate your wallet to buy this. | eeza
23/8/2017 16:03 | yeah Lol indeed, selling fivers for £4 now lol. | stevieweebie2 |
