12/5/2020 18:40 | As I understand it, the common cold is one (or more) coronaviruses. They haven't found a cure for that yet. DF | deanforester
12/5/2020 16:46 | Got it,thanks. | abdullla
12/5/2020 16:33 | No Abdulla, he means you can't conjure up 'a cure' out of thin air. These things, as the Government advisors on TV yesterday reminded us, can take years of trialling. Would you have a vacine that hasn't been tested, let alone one that hasn't been tested on humans!! Noone forsaw the pandemic, unless you somehow looked into the future. You can't make a vacine or antidote for something that doesn't exist at that moment in time!! | bothdavis
12/5/2020 13:33 | Jade, you mean there is no corona virus this is just a dream ?? | abdullla
12/5/2020 13:28 | Abdulla, how often do companies have a cure for something that does not exist? How long have we scientists known about Covid 19? Do you have a cure for it? | jadeticl3
12/5/2020 12:02 | GSK the worlds largest vaccine maker?why can't they fix corona virus? | abdullla
10/5/2020 13:20 | IC tip do the opposite to make money. | montyhedge
09/5/2020 21:06 | Just checked (sorry chart wont post for some reason) but over 5 years azn has out performed gsk by about 70% doubt the higher dividend will make that much difference. | tim 3
09/5/2020 10:15 | TM, The IC hard copy is delivered on Friday, it seems with AZ dropping over 3% that investors ran for the hills on IC's Buy tip! | beckers2008
07/5/2020 16:33 | Lol, your probably right | buying
07/5/2020 15:19 | When a share is tipped by Chronic Investor, I do the opposite ... ? | tradermichael
07/5/2020 13:38 | AZN tipped in this weeks Investors Chronicle | buying
07/5/2020 12:42 | Indeed. It’s hardly been a disaster to own GSK over the last ten years in its own right but compared with AZN it certainly has! | daneswooddynamo
07/5/2020 09:03 | GSK share price goes nowhere... It's like Bond that pays 5% yieldMeanwhile AZN is low yield and has had stellar share price growth.Very contrasting performances.I hold both. | gateside
07/5/2020 08:45 | I have had GSK shares for 10 years plus and do not focus on them much. I have never been to an AGM. By chance I happened to hear about the Web shareholder meeting yesterday with the Chairman and Emma. There was a 35 minute presentation and 25 minutes Q&A which finished early as there were so few questions. In contrast I had been at the UKSA/sharesoc meeting with the BP yesterday morning where they had been many many questions. GSK must have many shareholders like me who are disengaged. | cerrito
07/5/2020 08:16 | It's an ill wind... "When GSK originally announced the divestment of Horlicks in December 2018 the Company expected gross proceeds from the overall transaction to be approximately £3.1 billion and net proceeds to be approximately £2.4 billion after hedging costs, taxes and other expenses had been settled. With the appreciation of HUL's share price since then, GSK now expects gross proceeds from the divestment to be £3.4 billion and net proceeds from the divestment to be £2.9 billion. This includes the proceeds received on closing of the transaction on 1 April 2020 and the expected proceeds from the sale of our Bangladesh business, which is expected to close later this year" | poikka
06/5/2020 13:24 | No comparison on dividend payout though. GSK twice AZN. spud | spud
06/5/2020 13:08 | I wouldn't be too upset with the action here if I could stop myself comparing it to the turbocharged share price of AZN.. ? | rikky72
05/5/2020 08:43 | :-) Getting better. | sicker
05/5/2020 08:37 | Like going to a football match and saying my team is going to win 3-0 GSK is my only red share this morning :-) | sicker
05/5/2020 08:05 | 04 May: Goldman Sachs today reaffirms its buy investment rating on GlaxoSmithKline PLC (LON:GSK) and raised its price target to 2060p (from 1900p). | tradermichael
04/5/2020 15:26 | TM, thanks a lot. | abdullla
04/5/2020 15:19 | The deal was done last August, now they are in a phase of integrating and consolidating the business. As far as a spin-off 'deal', not sure that 'penalties' apply. GSK owns 68% of the merged business and there was a plan to spin off the whole business within 3-5 years. I think that would be by mutual consent. Seem to recall that each would have an option to buy the stake that they didn't own after 'x' years? Now is not the time (or any time soon) to spin off, though, is it? | tradermichael
04/5/2020 14:22 | TM,if they do not go through with the deal wouldn't there be heavy penalties? | abdullla |
