02/2/2012 14:24 | It's been a bit frustrating watching this one lag behind the recent market rise, but it's in my SIPP so, unless anything changes, I'll hold. It's on an amazingly low PEG for a FTSE 100 stock. | bluebelle
02/2/2012 14:08 | LOL , don't you just hate it when a stock goes up week after week . Makes me jumpy as to knowing when to sell it ...all appears rosy in the garden at the moment though . | ignoble

01/2/2012 14:33 | Thanks Alpha - I've looked at Titan several times but it's never quite made it from the watch list to the portfolio. I've been very selective, especially over the last year or so given market conditions, and it hasn't quite ticked all the boxes although it seems to have quite a bit going for it. It seems to me to be very tightly managed with good financial control. | bluebelle
01/2/2012 14:02 | Bluebelle, A good way to play the GKN's wheel business - which is for sale - is TSW. | alphahunter
01/2/2012 12:43 | GKN on a mission today........... | bigbigdave
27/1/2012 12:12 | Seems sensible - each doing what they're best at. Incidentally CR mentioned the positive statement from Caterpillar on his thread yesterday. As I posted there, this bodes well for GKN's Agricultural division which doesn't, IMHO, get the attention from the (mainly engineering) analysts covering the stock. GKN PLC announces dissolution of joint arrangements in Thailand GKN plc announces the dissolution of its Driveline joint arrangements with JTEKT Corporation (`JTEKT`) in Rayong, Thailand. GKN and JTEKT have concluded a Share Exchange Agreement under which GKN has acquired JTEKT`s 49% shareholding in GKN Driveline JTEKT Manufacturing Limited (`GTM`), and transferred to JTEKT its 49% shareholding in GKN JTEKT (Thailand) Limited (`GTT`). Following this amicable dissolution, GKN now owns 100% of GTM (the manufacturing facility) and JTEKT now owns 100% of GTT (the sales and distribution arm). Each will operate independently except for the continuation of certain existing supplies of driveshafts to Toyota. GKN will pay JTEKT net consideration of approximately GBP7.7 million which will be funded from the Group's existing resources, with further deferred consideration of GBP1.3 million contingent upon GTM obtaining certain specified future business awards. | bluebelle

18/1/2012 09:51 | Reading between the lines of the report in the Guardian today it would appear that GKN were not interested in the work that went to KAI.,so that would indicate that rumours over the loss to GKN of composite wing work are unfounded: Dissapointed though that Airbus did not try harder to keep the work in the UK by approaching other potential sources such as Weston or BHW considering the current economic environment where governments are desperate to avoid recession in the EU and noting EADS is owned by German,French and Spanish governments as well as the fact that Airbus are not short of orders so competitiveness is not an issue. | rogerrail |
