30/8/2011 10:14 | Nomuraa upgrade for GKN 0714 GMT [Dow Jones] Nomura upgrades recommendations on Boeing (BA) and GKN (GKN.LN) in its latest aerospace and defense sector review. It changes Boeing to neutral from reduce and maintains a $70 target and upgrades GKN to buy from reduce, with target up at 240p from 225p. "We like the defensive growth of the civil aerospace upswing," says Nomura. It remains relatively bullish on the sector. It also sees continued catch-up in airline maintenance spending, as providing the right backdrop for the civil aerospace sector to continue its relative outperformance. Within the sector, Nomura says Rolls-Royce (RR.LN) and Safran (SAF.FR) are its top picks, noting they offer a strong defensive growth outlook with further scope to expand margins - its recommendation on both is buy. And it ups its Rolls target to 750p from 725p and Safran target to EUR33.00 from EUR32.50. | cockneyrebel

25/8/2011 09:44 | Been particularly hard hit because of fears of the car industry being badly hit if there were to be a double dip - same has happened to a lot of similar stocks, compounded by the fact that the sector had had a good run before the recenbt correction so people understandably ready to take profits. All depends on your time scale, but I have a decent (everything is relative !) sized holding in my SIPP, which I try not to trade much, and am more than happy to stick with it on that timescale. | bluebelle
25/8/2011 09:36 | here comes the lift- won't take much to send this back to 230ish | valedo |
