22/8/2011 12:32 | Big chart support around this level - just double bottomed? | cockneyrebel
20/8/2011 19:38 | TM - Thanks for that, personally I wouldn't want to see a bid come through as I'm fully loaded in GKN and there is a very good management team running the company at the moment, but who knows in these troubled times there are predators about and my palm is always open to sensible offers. 180p is a fair average to hold at for you. I did get a bit hot under the collar when it briefly went to 175p although the relative strength (RSI) was strong at the time and the stock soon pulled back. There is quite a number of FTSE stocks reporting this coming week so hopefully depending on the results Investors should settle down a bit and enjoy the good news. Have a good week --- Tam. | tamboerskloof
20/8/2011 12:19 | Tamboerskloof Yep still holding despite the cyclical nature of the beast. Actually @180p I stuck a bit more in. (I percieved that as a support level). I am also very scared of missing a bid if I sell beacuse at these prices what GKN has to offer put it firmly in bid territory. We've recently seen a small flurry of this. I draw parrallels with Motorola and Autonomy to name 2. When you sit back and think rationally holding seems to be the choice that makes sense. Thanks for the updates/links. Thread is quiet so they're much apreciated. | thorpematt
19/8/2011 09:18 | Tam - which quarter review was that? | melody9999

17/8/2011 19:13 | MSCI Global Value and Growth Indices: As part of the Quarterly Index Reviews, securities added to or deleted from the MSCI Global Standard Indices are added to or deleted from the MSCI Global Value and Growth Indices. For the MSCI Global Growth Indices, the additions will be Fossil (US), GKN (GB), New Gold (CA) and Dongyue (CN). For the MSCI Global Value Indices, the only addition will be Precision Drilling (CA). | tamboerskloof
17/8/2011 18:30 | Holders of GKN may have seen this post already, although I thought it beneficial to post on the B Board, 'GKN bounced 1.7 percent higher, almost recouping Tuesday's 1.9-percent decline, with traders citing the benefits of the British automotive and aviation parts manufacturer's inclusion in the MSCI United Kingdom Index'. This company has an awful lot going for it despite alternative views above, IMO we could have a RR mark 2 here. The charts are a reflection of the economic turmoil gripping the markets and GKN like many other top companies are pulled down for no real reason. Half yearly report is an excellent read, with a strong order book. | tamboerskloof
17/8/2011 11:59 | THORPEMATT - 11 Aug'11 - 09:45 - 1342 of 1344 Your post sums up this - and many others - pretty well, I feel !!! | bluebelle
17/8/2011 11:48 | where's gumbarr ? | ignoble
11/8/2011 17:27 | Back in here at 182..lets hope the rally continues tomorrow ! | wanttowin
11/8/2011 09:45 | GKN are a bit of an analogy for the rest of the market really. It's share look cheap, it's fundamentals look positive. Long-term there are fantastic opportunities for the business given global urbanisation population growth etc. BUT then you look at the chart, watch the BBC news and tune into Gloomberg... | thorpematt
09/8/2011 10:32 | Last time I bought some at £1 but a few weeks later they were at 60p so I would wait even more don't jump in at £1 either. | gumberr
09/8/2011 09:36 | ..i'll go get mine. | rkd9
09/8/2011 09:35 | ....£1 it is then!. | rkd9
08/8/2011 23:50 | defo, even £1 looks possible because the markets are as bad as before. There are no bargains at the moment until the markets settle. | gumberr
08/8/2011 20:25 | ok no problem I will see if i can take it over. | gumberr
08/8/2011 16:47 | I never expected a t/o, but if there is a serious predator out there then now's the time to pounce for value. neither did I expect such a topping up opportunity. Lets see where it goes from here | lyntwyn
08/8/2011 16:31 | no takeover by the looks of it folks! sp taking a NOSED D(R)IVE! | gumberr
08/8/2011 13:57 | GKN is quite a trading stock. Its invariably either top flyer or biggest loser! Surprised at the volatily range though. | lyntwyn
04/8/2011 11:48 | RKD9, yes you were correct.Despite decent results these are being pressured by the wider market, but loads of upside when the time comes! We are currently in august low volumes so moves are exaggerated,- I have no worries re GKN,-am quietly optomistic on wider market, and would be far more concerned if current volatility was occurring in late sept/oct. | lyntwyn
04/8/2011 11:22 | ...like I said, 205 here we come. Serious selling is in trend now, sub 200 is more than likely...a general shares blood bath will really send these diving!. | rkd9 |
