19/10/2016 15:40 | whats holding this back? | 1959cos
19/10/2016 15:29 | When should the next payments arrive or is it a case of could be anytime? | gregpeck7
19/10/2016 12:58 | Good afternoon gregpeck. Have played with GENL for a few years and having sold at prices including north of 900p (NINE pounds) I am now sitting on a rather large number of them again. The reserves downgrade, POO ,and local politics have weighed sentiment away from this share. One has to look to the medium and longer term. POO MAY be returning to a more reasonable range. ISIS looks certain to be destroyed. The really big catalyst for a significant rate North is our enormous gas reserves. On the way to those sun lit uplands one can trade and make a few bob . Brent $52.42 | cyan
19/10/2016 12:39 | These will re rate, oil price has to come into it at some point as they look silly cheap at the moment... The quicker they retake mosul and drive out IS the better as well.. | gregpeck7
19/10/2016 12:36 | "Oil prices rally on hopes of market recovery" Posted at 11:45 North Sea Brent Crude Bloomberg Crude oil prices have moved higher, helped by comments from Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister. He said oil demand is expanding at a "healthy rate" despite slower global growth. Saudi Arabia is the most important member of the Opec group of oil producing nations. It next meets on 30 November. The secretary general of the organisation said he was "optimistic" that the group could agree on a cut in production. Also a report showed that US stockpiles of crude had fallen over the last week. A short while ago Brent Crude was up 1.4% at $52.42 a barrel. | cyan
19/10/2016 11:21 | The Kurds can't rely on Iraq as they export independently against the will of Baghdad and as a result get nothing from the National budget. The Govt in Kurdistan is practically a plutocracy and they mean to keep it that way with IOC's cash. | fireplace22
19/10/2016 11:20 | cheap as chips these are.all the other oilers have risen as the oil price has risen this has not.our time will come. | wantmorethan24p
19/10/2016 11:11 | agreed, and if they aren't I will be moving on to something where you can correlate positives with making money | money4me
19/10/2016 11:10 | The Kurds were helped in previous months be oil pre payments, if buyers perceive an increase in credit risk and not provide prepayments(from not paying other suppliers) the increase in oil price and increase volume goes to maintain previous Kurd funding in place of the prepayments. | dodge meister
19/10/2016 10:37 | I agree and the recent lack of payment for no actual reason hasn't helped. Now this next payment if we get a significant uplift in receivables this could be the game changer. No excuses more oil pumped and at a signifanctly higher price. Revenues should be up by a very large amount and passed down to the IOCs by a corresponding amount. | sparky333
19/10/2016 10:31 | Issue here is not POO, (could be $150 and make no difference), barrels in the ground, cash etc. If the Kurds (with the nod of Baghdad)decide to stop paying-they can make any excuse, effctively nationalizing the asset without paying a penny they can do so anytime. It is a landlocked country-at the mercy of the Turks, Iraqis and Iranians as well so excuses abound. So it is down to trust and frankly-as they have failed so many times in the past-investors do not trust the Kurdistan regime at present. | cumnor
19/10/2016 10:15 | Brent $52.44 and we are 95p and struggling WTF !!!!! | sparky333
19/10/2016 09:39 | Mosul campaign the next excuse for not being able to pay- These Kurds are as slippery as eels. That said, I have doubled m relatively small holding this week and aim to use any weakness to top up. Instead of moaning, use the market caraziness as opportunities and stop whinging. This is how the market works. | mpclag
19/10/2016 07:44 | everything is going up apart from the GENL share price | money4me
18/10/2016 22:45 | Oil flying up again... | gregpeck7
18/10/2016 20:32 | In our last presentation Murat said with oil being where it was (about 43 $) that when Kirkirk came back on line the KRG should be able to balance their books and therefore bigger receivable payments should be made. Kirkirk would have been on line for 2 months at the end of tis month and oil is over 8$ a barrel more. So based on just these 2 and not including the extra production.......... We should be on the right track........... I get more and more confident every day but the share price just shrugs and says ......."Not Yet" Hawkey....The Believer. | hawkey2
18/10/2016 19:54 | Don't dispare sparky, pour yourself a glass of red and put your feet up. | valhalla3
18/10/2016 15:31 | I really think we could hit new lows before the 26th which will not be pretty reading as we didn't get paid for 3 months./sigh | sparky333
18/10/2016 15:16 | GKP up 6% and we are down the gap in valuation increases | sparky333
18/10/2016 13:46 | Common Sort it out Guys | cool hand kev
18/10/2016 13:39 | What is also funny is the likes of glen, Katz and Anglo are up between 4 and 5 times in the last few months yet commodities have not risen that amount.Oil has nearly doubled from the year lows yet we languish at the bottom of the range.Even more weird !!!!! | sparky333
18/10/2016 12:36 | But the rot starters prior to none payment in Jul until sept.Makes you think someone knew in advance. God the stock market is just a gamble these days against people in the know and bloody Algo programmes.Just need to be in the right place at the right time.Makes me laugh when GKP has a market cap similar to Genels now.Genel has around $1b in cash and monies owed.Never mind higher production and better quality oil.Stunned !!! | sparky333
18/10/2016 12:30 | Sentiment at play with GKP shareholders being almost wiped out principally due to non-payment by the Kurds. GENL getting some shorting treatment as open to some of the same risk despite their better fundamentals. | fireplace22 |
