01/11/2022 12:20 | Clearly there's a conflict here between fear and greed. I certainly think that 8%+ tax free(in an ISA) from a company like Aviva on a cumulative irredemable(I know, I know!) pref makes it at the very least fair value...but that hasn't stopped the share price drifting down! | cwa1
01/11/2022 12:10 | I am waiting for the next leg down. Who knows if it will even happen. I consider the price to be "fair" where it is but not outrageously cheap and I like to buy cheap. What's mostly nagging at me is that the Dow has rallied 4000 points and if we get a pullback of say 2000 which does not seem outside the realms of possibility will the share price be lower as everything gets sold off again or not? Or have we seen a bottom as Rishi is now in charge and a pullback of any decent size is never going to come. | cc2014
01/11/2022 11:49 | AV.A has been rising last few days, now making these look a stark anomaly, clearly the seller causing this has been a very large holder indeed. Who can say what they have left but I would be surprised if they had not already broken the back of it. You can lop off almost 4p in accrued now making the effective purchase price comfortably past the 8% PA. I've taken the view you cant go wrong in the long term at these levels and taken shed loads. | my retirement fund
01/11/2022 11:16 | I have been very close to pushing the buy button at 1.13, but am wondering if any more increase in interest rates might knock the price of these even more. They really don't appear as loved compared with when the rates were lower. Do you guys think its still a good time to buy?? Cheers CRT | crt131
01/11/2022 10:48 | Seems to be lots of buyers(by GACA standards) but the price keeps on drifting down. Anyone got any thoughts as to who is selling or, more importantly, how many they have to shift? | cwa1
01/11/2022 09:50 | Taken a few more at about 113p. Teetering between deciding whether I'm mad or a genius ;-) Still seems to be a very willing and sizable seller soaking up all the buys. Time will tell I suppose... | cwa1
26/10/2022 17:53 | ... meets willing buyer. I have bought a fair slab of these over the last couple of weeks. | belgraviaboy
26/10/2022 17:02 | They often are or desperate of course . | holts
25/10/2022 16:56 | Looks like buyers r back | badtime
24/10/2022 09:32 | A few 9 k buys going through today | nerja
21/10/2022 15:55 | Dividend declaration... | cwa1
20/10/2022 13:29 | Totally commonplace. ADVFN categorises anything under mid as a sell, above a buy and at mid as "?". Mine too are in the "wrong" column. In fact I would say about 80% of my trades are reported in the wrong column. Naturally, I AM aware that there is always a buy and a sale for every trade! It is the bluntest of blunt tools and should be treated with caution | cwa1
20/10/2022 13:16 | Buys showing as sells today I know because I'm in the wrong column | joe say
19/10/2022 13:04 | Also added a few today... | skyship
19/10/2022 12:43 | Not sure that is dumping, think most are buys. Someone just wants out and has been trying to exit for a while IMO. | spooky
19/10/2022 12:38 | Fair bit of dumping going on today as well, driving down the offer price. Just dipped in my toe for a few at 113.6. May not be bottom, but cheap enough for me. Haven’t been in prefs for a few years, but I see these as a relatively safe haven in troubled times. | lord gnome
13/10/2022 21:32 | Fair bit of dumping going on today | badtime
13/10/2022 12:51 | Yields at offer prices: # AV.A 8.75% @ 114.5p-115.35p = 7.59% # AV.B 8.375% @ 111.0p-112.02p = 7.48% # GACA 8.875% @ 112.75p-113.99p = 7.79% # GACB 7.875% @ 100.25p-101.38p = 7.77% AV.A & GACA next to go XD | skyship
12/10/2022 19:45 | Buying more? | badtime

12/10/2022 16:29 | At 114.10p offer price the flat yield now 7.78%. More when accrued of course... | skyship
12/10/2022 15:55 | Yield now 8% | my retirement fund |
