Interestingly Petra share price rallied a bit on RNS saying one of their care and maint mines had agreed terms for sale; no details offered but someone prepared to take on the worst of their 4 mines.

Would be very nice to see a very large stone leading up to Q3 results to shake things up, And then hopefully further clarification on the ridiculous share price which has no resemblance to its actual current value regardless of the current depressed diamond market.

Agree somewhat, Bobex.

Honestly not remotely bothered about price fluctuation short term here.

If the financial health is good and no skeletons in the closet (that's the if) then this should 'eventually' be reflected in the share price

Let's see where we stand in 6 months or so.

This company was undervalued 2 years ago ( and before). In RNS regarding Share Buyback Programme, CEO Elphick said: " We are of the view that the value of GD is not reflected in its current share price..." That current share price was about 60p at that time. So today perhaps a more appreciate term ought to be used in this regard, maybe knocked out or something like that… This is a value trap, especially if you think of all those stones before the g o o d results, share price reaching over 15p or so for a couple of hours, millions of shares being traded ... and where are we now? But maybe one day something changes here.

MTT,

As I've said, pure speculation on my part.

I asked the question via investor relations and a didn't get a clear definitive answer, the reply was a bit vague.....Just a feeling.

Probably completely barking up the wrong tree....but why do directors not see present value in the current share price?

I recognise the diamond market is struggling but even so, even in this weak market the share price should be approaching 20p+ by now. No one would quibble at that based on company fundamentals.

Okay, so Sustainable have sold down from 21.36% to 16.53 which is depressing the share price, and have not sold anything significant since. Why? It seems odd.

Something doesn't feel quite right to me.

I feel sorry for shareholders that have seen the share price destroyed and are cynical about management's ability to provide shareholder value.

I'm hoping for a recovery in the SP, and waiting for some clarity around Q3.

The only real silver lining is the regular recovery of high value large stones, and I expect that to continue.

I've done the maths and think H1 was a 6.5p EPS for just the half year. Which is nuts given the current 13p share price And don't forget two large stones not sold in HY, cost recognised in H1, all profit in H2.Even a more pessimistic calculation for H2, I get 3.4p EPS for H2. Annualised, 6.8p, and at 3x PE minimum that's a 20p share price, minimum, it should trade, even in bear case scenario.

Does any other diamond mining company find as many big stones as Gem Diamonds?

One week to go until an update, should be interesting I think.

GEMD certainly in a much better position than if they hadn't found all those large stones that according to some on here they wouldn't be able to do.

Not a single outage from Escrom either.

Question is, when will the share price reflect the results?

Yes, I know the diamond market isn't in the best shape but GEMD are doing rather well and the share price has yet to reflect this.

Oh, well....roll on next week for the update.

One more big stone would be very nice too before results, perhaps a fancy red or blue one....you never know.

I’ve been in and out here over the years, never in huge size but traded back initial losses. The management give no cause for confidence and relied on pulling out some big stones every once in a while. They dried up for a time but seems they are digging in an area that has a few at present, it would be interesting to see if there are also more frequent mid size finds that aren’t large enough to warrant an RNS.

Given the current trashed share price/market cap we could well see a doubling of the share price in quick time when the finances of selling some of these large stones are announced.

Can't believe the GEMD share price hasn't kicked on much considering the markets generally have picked up, maybe next week, and run up to the H1 update which will likely be extremely positive. GLA holders.
