They could be made "inside" but that would prevent them from trading. In my experience, that is anathema to investors except for very short periods when absolutely necessary.

MTT,

As I've said, pure speculation on my part.

I asked the question via investor relations and a didn't get a clear definitive answer, the reply was a bit vague.....Just a feeling.

Probably completely barking up the wrong tree....but why do directors not see present value in the current share price?

I recognise the diamond market is struggling but even so, even in this weak market the share price should be approaching 20p+ by now. No one would quibble at that based on company fundamentals.

Okay, so Sustainable have sold down from 21.36% to 16.53 which is depressing the share price, and have not sold anything significant since. Why? It seems odd.

Something doesn't feel quite right to me.

I feel sorry for shareholders that have seen the share price destroyed and are cynical about management's ability to provide shareholder value.

I'm hoping for a recovery in the SP, and waiting for some clarity around Q3.

The only real silver lining is the regular recovery of high value large stones, and I expect that to continue.

Remember there were millions sold a few weeks ago to retail investors from a large institution who had held a long time.....the new owners are less patient....it was ramped on Twitter

Relax. Bank facility renewal will come, drives more buying interest as those risk adverse holding off atm.Sustainable Capital are experienced investors in illiquid stuff. They timed their sell well to coincide with large buying interest. They won't keep selling now it's back down to 13p, as they didn't want to sell before at this price right? The problem here is that there's no large buyer that is willing to take out their stake in one go, as Gem Diamonds is so under the radar...

We won't. Most investors still don't put 2+2 together and work out 8 large diamonds in 6 months = record year to come. Also they don't bother working out how much each diamond is worth. And that is all goes to the bottom line...The only time this will go 20p+ is if the company issues profit guidance or the HY or FY results come out.

For casual observers who don't know the company well, they can't fathom how such a tiny stone can add millions of dollars in profit in one go.Which is substantial for a company with a sub-£20m market cap. This is where bottoms up investing research is most rewarding. Us investors who have bothered to understand GEMD now have certainty of a blowout HY results. Whereas others, with the same RNS information, just shrug and move on.For now. Till the HY results come out, showing the amazing numbers.

Yes, I accept that tracking the diamond index is somewhat of a redherring when taking into consideration the larger stones, especially ones > 100cts and considering that 70-80% of diamond sales come from larger stones but it still matters that prices stabilise to bring confidence to the diamond investor market.

Oh dear… Some type has decided that enough private investors have been ruined???

Market cap now £12m from 8p a share.

5 large stones last quarter sold for £18m.

Just goes to show what can happen when investors simply can not trust the directors.
