It has been interesting to observe the share price performance of Cameco since it agreed to acquire 49% of Westinghouse Electric earlier this month.

Prior to the announcement on 11th. October, Cameco was trading around US$26. - It then slumped to $21.

Cameco has now swiftly made back almost all of the lost ground at $25.

Looks like the market is warming to the acquisition. It must surely give Cameco great leverage in the supply side for U3o8.

Surprised that the deal has not received more coverage in the UK media given the Mark Carney connection, as ex-Governor of The Bank of England and who is now Vice Chair of Brookfield, the 51% Strategic Partner of Cameco in this deal.

I bought quite a lot today, to add to the smaller amount I'd bought in the 30s. Should have done it the other way round!

Update From Sprott's Uranium Trader - Per Jander

This video is dated 23rd Oct, but the interview was first released during their Uranium Conference 5.0 on Sept 27 '22, so it may have already been linked here..

Miners weak today with broader market. SPUT up to nearly $35m cash, but no new cash raised today and no lbs bought. But spot creeping up to $51.50 mid.

SPUT now holding $29m of cash after raising $3.5m last night. Plus, it closed at a premium to NAV. Any further ATM activation likely to go towards stacking more U3O8.

Strong finish for the miners and SPUT. Should be good for the NAV tomorrow, but the increase will be somewhat tempered by the stronger pound.

Looks like fairly low volume being traded, but SPUT is back in the ATM zone, so we might expect a modest cash raise later tonight.

Good news for Uranium and European citizens facing a cold winter. Germany to extend the lifetime of all three nuclear power plants scheduled to close at the end of this year.

Blimey, we're in real danger of trading at par to NAV for the first time in a good long while.

Most of the miners (except Cameco) up today in what look like fiarly strong up moves (NXE and FCU in particular).

SPUT's ATM is also back on. They raised $9.7m today and bought 100K lbs, leaving $22.7m in cash. Started buying earlier than I thought they would. Spot up a dollar or so according to Numerco too.

Looks like Cameco's share price has fallen from a 6th storey balcony in response to the $650m bought deal at a significant discount to yesterday's close.

P.S. They did let slip that they have contracted 50m lbs YTD, 5m lbs up on last quarter. So steady, not spectacular progress on contracting.

Cameco partnering with Brookfield (run by Mark Carney) to buy Westinghouse. Cameco issuing $650m of shares at a fairly steep discount to today's closing price to fund their 49% share of the deal.

Sounds quite exciting, but I must say I am not a huge fan of massive, vertically integrated conglomerates. We will have to see how the market reacts after the initial dip down to the offer price.

SPUT up, albeit on quite low volume. But it was already at a premium, so the ATM should have been active today.

Miners flat, but it looks like the fly wheel might be firing up again.

Yes. Big moves up again yesterday for uranium stocks on the TSX and NYSE.

Should be good for another significant increase of 2p or more for today's NAV.
