Indeed Steve, lesson learned.

kiwi... they may be selling below NAV value, but it's still higher than the subs price shareholders would have paid.... so better for the co.

IIRC from the GPM subs a year or 2 ago was that the "rump" was only marginally more than the exercise price, even though the share price was a few p higher, so I'd guess they sold these off at c. 38-39, and the buyers are now making a small, but quick, profit

Unfortunately the unused cash had not been returned to my trading account as yet, so I had to sell something else to take advantage of this "sale"..

...and to think that we could have sold at 73/74 recently... to buy back around 70% more without spending ANYTHING extra.. That's the lesson for next year..!!

Good points Kiwi. I have taken the opportunity to start a position here though. Gl!

P.S. Not sure how it's in shareholder interests to be raising cash below NAV. Why not allocate the rights that weren't taken up to shareholders who were scaled back?

Sadly, no cash available. Looks like they're dumping the rights that weren't taken up on to the market.

Lesson learned for how to play this next year.

I've just picked up the 40k shares I could have had through subs. Huge spread right now 40/45p. Happy that i didn't have to pay too much more in the end

And there I was thinking today's Cameco conference call would be bullish for the sector. I still think it was, but seems the Uranium sector is being dragged down with the overall markets.

I agree Kiwi. I think the ETFs will put GCL back on a more even keel with regards to the bonkers premium it has been trading at times over the last year or so.

Out of interest, has anyones brokers allowed them to trade the Global X uranium ETF on the LSE? Both of my brokers say that its there on the market but not yet available for settlement on CREST - they both said until thats resolved they wont let customers buy it yet.

Perhaps someone is forcing the price down so they can buy the unused rights cheaply. Plus some dumping the rights they received for an instant profit.

I think it's a temporary dip, although the wide premiums to NAV might be gone now with the availability of ETFs on the London market.

Remarkable. We must be back to a discount now. The new uranium ETFs aren't even available to trade on the LSE yet.

Cameco 1Q22 results out. BOOM! First signs of Kazak supply disruption.

The drop is probably a combination of the weak sector performance last week and yesterday, the very imminent conversion of the subscription shares, and the Global X Uranium ETF being listed on the LSE.

I know many aren't fond of the Global X ETF holdings relative to the holdings of the North Shore ETF. But from a UK perspective, it finally gives the market a passive low cost option for getting sector exposure. It removes Geigers monopoly and will probably help pull the premium back to earth (it's probably around about par now).

I'm guessing that today's drop is due to the new shares issued, and the resultant drop in NAV... Remember though that next years ref. price is the NAV rather than the share price ..!

I don't recall that they've announced the date to set the price for next year's subs, unless it remains 4th May, as it was last year..

Lovely drop today - gets the exercise price down for next year's subscription rights...

Miners weak again today.

Might be a bit of a down day tomorrow as the NAV catches down to their share prices.

GCL share price already at quite a premium to NAV and there will be people with new rights sitting at quite a profit.

However, still very confident on the medium term outlook. The macro news keeps getting stronger.

My broker has taken my cash from my account for my allocation this morning. Assume/hoping to get my full allocation, only 5K shares so not a big player here. Lol

According to a speaker from the IAEA at the WNA forum today, US utilities are down to 16 months of inventory. That ought to be very bullish for Uranium as they rush to close long term contracts. European utilities down to 2 and a bit years.

IAEA recommends a minimum 2 years of inventory and EU likes to see 3+ years. Global instability perhaps pushes the minimum higher to maintain security of supply.

Yep. I've missed out too, as a result of procrastination. Had been meaning to top up my SIPP with some cash to take advantage of the cheap shares. Oh well.
