Entain announcing a bolt on acquisition this morning of an online nordic gaming company, enlabs, and the founder concluded “ Enlabs has achieved an enormous amount as an independent business, but we recognise the established trend of industry consolidation and the growing importance of scale."

This is a positive news story - very chirpy holder from back when the company presented in Derby at one of the annual Mello events. It is a different animal now of course but the US is really opening up with New York getting in on the action.

a note on Wednesday, house broker Peel Hunt reiterated their ‘buy’ rating and 40p target price on the stock, saying the company was “growing to the scale where it can exploit a global market opportunity”.

“We forecast 2021 will be a year of material profitability and cash generation and there is upside to forecasts if the group can enter more markets more quickly than we currently expect”, the broker added.

Shares in Gaming Realms jumped 12.6% to 25p in early trading.

What a great and slightly unexpected announcement in that its much quicker that the last RND which just said H1.

With Pennsylvania to come in the next few months the future is looking bright especially given that we have products that are attractive to the US market.

my biggest concern here is that we get taken out too soon.

GMR share price began to rise during the last lock down as folk spent more time gaming online. The biggest danger to shareholder wealth is a takeover approach. I was in Ladbrokes and once they got into the USA they were taken out at a fraction of their future earnings.
Also worth rereading last September trading update which makes me believe GMR will be heading to 30p soon with the potential bonus of a dividend in 2021.

Since updating the market on 8 September 2020 when publishing its interim results, the Company is pleased to report that business performance and sales momentum has continued the trend demonstrated throughout the first 8 months of this year.

Revenues for the Period are expected to be GBP10.7m, 55% ahead of 2019. As a result of this increase in revenue, the Company expects adjusted EBITDA of not less than GBP2.75m for the year ended 31 December 2020.

This strong performance is due to the expansion of our partners internationally, the release of new "Slingo" games, and improvements to the Group's technology. In the second half of the Period, we have gone live with 5 new partners, including PaddyPower Betfair in Europe, and launched 4 new "Slingo" games including Slingo Fluffy Favourites.

The Company has applied for licenses in Pennsylvania and Michigan in the US and hopes to launch in these states during the first half of 2021.

Excellent news, management hitting their licence deadlines. I am expecting the PENN license this month too and then GMR is covering the largest 3 gaming states of NJ, WIS, PENN. Long term prospects here are compelling and my stock is locked away for 2021.

Gaming Realms Plc

("Gaming Realms", the "Company" or the "Group")

Gaming Realms granted provisional iGaming supplier license in U.S. State of Michigan

Gaming Realms plc (AIM: GMR), the developer and licensor of mobile focused gaming content, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a provisional iGaming supplier license by the Michigan Gaming Control Board, as it remains focused on increasing its presence in the United States.

Michigan is the tenth largest state within the U.S., with a population of circa 10 million people. The license will allow Gaming Realms to provide its Slingo Originals game content to Michigan's licensed online casino operators once iGaming is approved to go live by the State's Gaming Control Board, which is expected to happen imminently.

Michael Buckley, Executive Chairman of Gaming Realms, commented: "We are delighted to have obtained our provisional iGaming license in Michigan, which presents a larger player market than New Jersey, where the Group operates at present.

"We already have a number of deals signed with operators licensed in Michigan and we are confident that it will be a strong market for us, given the awareness of Slingo as a successful gaming brand. We look forward to being amongst those helping to launch its new iGaming market."

Todays news of MGM bidding to buy out ENT (aka GVC) is good news for the sector even if the premium on offer is a little miserly.

Given our traction in the US and with more licenses to come it can only be positive for GMR holders and a good start to the year.

Agree with David. Selling such a small % is irrelevant to me. Director sales always need to be viewed with a context to the specific situation - what their backgruond is, how much they earn, what % of their holding they've sold, even what their age is (ie inheritance planning).

Here its such a small % of what he owns that its not remotely close to being a red flag for me. Each to his own though!
