There has been comment about post deal plans/intentions or even date upun which such plans/intetions released or even if they are currently making plans.
That is a big question mark for forward value could be.
Between NAV and underivable forward EPS that's a big gap, so volatility to be expected. (I don't say that patronisingly, but following thought pattern :-) )

>CONFIRMATION OF APPOINTMENT OF BILL HOCKING AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE

As minimum I would expect rns by new chief stating framework/timetable for plans.
He has known of his appointment well before 3/1/20, so would expect him to have such plan/timetable ready to go pronto, as he will know it is a big concern for both shareholders and employees and part of role is to allay concerns, giving clear direction.
IMO :-)

Based on closing prices for GFRD & BVS last Thursday I make it that the demerged GFRD was being valued at 122.5p per share (that takes into account the BVS bonus shares which GFRD holders won't receive). Therefore touching almost 190p on Friday seemed a bit bonkers.

Either the market was getting it wrong on Thursday, or the market was getting in wrong on Friday. Judging by this afternoon's action on GFRD and VTY I think we're finding out which! GFRD was an open goal for shorters on Friday.

It would be nice/ excellent if any directors stepped in and bought a decent amount of shares (40K +) at the current share price of £1.35 (to show confidence / faith in the New GFRD)

when the previous CEO joins forces with the existing CEO who then jumps ship to work for Vistry, it is obvious they know best how to put all of the dross into the rump company and keep the good bits for Vistry.

But it should all be in the price, things may turn out ok for GFRD in the long run.

Hi Wildshot. All brokers use custodians and you would not want it any other way.In the bad old days sometimes clients monies were mixed up with brokers monies so if they got into difficulties your money could be at risk. Now its all kept at arms length and so the monies will be kept away from the broker by the custodian. No excuse though for their slow responses, the broker must have a cut price deal with them.

Gfrd received £300m as part of the deal.
Todays value £340m.

Implies value of GFRD rump is virtually worthless.
We need some informed analysis here as to the state of the new balance sheet and prospects going forward.

ali47fish in regard to post 5659 I think the answer you are looking for is:

Take the total cost you historically paid for your GFRD shares and use 18.05% of this total cost to allocate to your new GFRD shares as a base capital cost.

The remaining 81.95% of your historic cost is the value you should apply as capital cost of the Bovis shares that you've been allocated.

I received a reply from IG this evening and it says:

"Thanks for your email.
I am sorry for any issue this can cause, we are still waiting to receive the new shares from our custodian and therefore we can't allocate it to our customers accounts. Once we receive them we will allocate them but we can't do it before. So far we don't have an expected date."

I'm not too sure how stockbroking works but this custodian thing seems to be a common reason with IG and why dividends tend to be credited a day later. Do other brokers use custodians?

It is something to keep an eye on. A couple of years ago this was used as an explanation by IG as to why it was more a week later before I received a five figure sum in my account for some takeover proceeds. I got an apology and a suggestion that the custodian didn't send the proceeds over and even implied the custodian forgot to send them!
