Very "doom and gloom" of you Pat!!

Everything aside concerning them, thier last holding RNS was at a similar time last year:

11/02/08 Holding was 121,069,309
05/02/09 Holding now 120,369,810

Sale of only 699,499!!!

Cheer up a rally is only just around the corner!! ;)

The markets are dire it's not just GRFM.

For those that can afford to buy now and tuck away, the time has never been better imo!!!

Might have to sell the family, as there will be good money being made in 6 months time from these levels methinks!

I have noticed that there last few releases have been a bit abrupt and pointing to their website for more detail, but that is not the done thing when investors need a quick summary of everything etc!!!

Especially in these markets you don't want to have to chase around the net to get detail that should be in an RNS imo.

Nevermind, as you say the upside here is far greater than any downside!!

trojan I agree..lfl prob dwn 10 pct...not too bad..all about sept/oct this year and if consumer picks up by then these puppies will be 40-50p...I thoght rns was also bit vague and rushed out...never mind share got 5p downside and 50p upside...I like thos odds...prfer dwht but gfrm a good no.2!!

Working so closely with local authorities helps and being at a local level in terms of contact with depot managers etc!! ;)

One for the pension fund for sure.

I agree they are well placed to capitalise on the upturn, they don't need the marketing spend like the others to kick start it either, as they have over 200,000 accounts

Yes indeed, they seem to be on top of the pile in their market place, which is why I am so confident about the share in the med/long term!!

Its factual I suppose, but they are faring better than B&Q and Homebase

That could have been a lot worse imo and although it will be difficult trading for the first half of 09, I would not be surprised if we see sales in the 2nd half at least on par with 08 and maybe even just ahead!!

Just my thoughts, but in my mind this is a multi bagger from this level over the next 18/24 months! DYOR.

I also have to say that I am not a fan of how abrupt these updates are in the rns's as they are very short and come across as if it's too much bother, maybe it's just me?

Having a better day up to 15.5p at the moment, maybe there is some good news or someone is buying as they are so cheap.

I think we now know the cost's of those leases as they have given us all the dates and monies involved, but the city will have noted it all down and even if they are happy with it they will want to see the start of any recovery in the housing market before buying back in.

As soon as we see some confidence in the banks and they start lending again, we should see 25p very quickly indeed, still a good time to buy in and tuck away methinks.

trojan...looking at most other hbuilders/cyclicals...eg tpk,wos,home,bdev....if I had to guess share price I would say gfrm would be 25p...just no rally at all in them...I suppose its the uncertainty of the total costs of MFI leases...?

A good question and to be honest I am not fully aware of the details of any of the gearing at Galiform, I would expect though that the majority of this is fixed at the time it is agreed, which is the usual procedure. If you wanted a better deal you would have to re-negotiate, but at present I think they may well be just happy to sit on what they have and wait for some confidence to come back into the financial sector!!

Interest rate cut's for the moment are not going to help them, although it should as I'm sure many will be better off with lower mortgage payment's by now, but the VAT cut will have helped them.

If we can see some confidence back in the sector soon, then even lower rates and the VAT cut may just trigger a few peeps having jobs done around the house, like a new kitchen as they will have a bit more in thier pocket and will have to pay 2.5% less on top of the bill to the fitters!!
Let's face it with rates due to go down again, there will not be much return on any savings, so peeps may just go out and spend at some point which is what this pathetic government wants them to do AND soon!!!

also trojan do the recent interest cuts help gfrm(not with pension as it wont help that)or are the rates of interest on their debt fixed?
