Yes but maestro it is running out of cash! Take those rose coloured glasses off!I don't care if they can turn rocks into gold, all companies MUST be able to fund the development of the product. Without actual contracts they cannot raise a bank loan. They need to do a placing fast. If they can get a placing away then by all means shout.

Well I really wish I didn't read this thread today. I held these shares for a long time up until Monday that is. Out of 7 different stocks I could have sold to raise some more trading capital I chose to sell my GNP. Still have some more but will buy back in if the storey looks good.

OK so why is it any good? No cash left, never made a profit, loss of 2.8 m on 3.4 turnover. Another "potential" company which needs heavy funding just to survive.

All very odd, but on balance probably moderately positive news if OS provide them with a chunk of business.

Interesting that GMP have had to pay OS after the case! I thought they were suing them not the other way around.

You can only hope that the 6-figure sum they are coughing up will be worth 10 times that in future orders from OS? If not, then GMP have been shafted, and I would beware of the rising price, considering the negative news.

Those were costs- signigicantly they are not able to divulge details-but emphasis is on collaberation.

They have not published the results for 2002 yet but they must be due very soon.

I have looked at their Web site today and map/photo coverage seems to be expanding outside the UK - towns in Irish Republic, parts of Spain and Sweden. They also have a contract from the OS to photo Scotland and are master reseller for 3D maps of UK produced by Intermap. Apart from book and photo map publishing, they have collaborated with Visual Flight to produce additions to MS Flight Simulator. Extract from press release of 10/02/03:

"Developed by Visual Flight, the scenery is created by draping Getmapping's Millennium Map aerial photography of England and Wales over a 3D terrain model of the landscape. Displayed by MS Flight Simulator, the result is a stunning visual environment that has taken the flight sim world by storm. Over 50,000 copies of the first pack, covering South East England, were within months of launch at the end of last year."

All of which sounds impressive if it were not for the lack of results.

Any one know why this share is not listed on the MSM Money site, maybe this could have an effect on the price, it it can't be found perhaps folks think its gone under.

Down today on no trades

from results last Sept..

"Loss before and after taxation reduced by 28% from £1,493,000 to
£1,080,000.

The Group's cash balances at 30 June 2002 were £1,382,000, sufficient
for the Group's foreseeable future requirements"

Does that mean they are almost out of cash, if burn has not been reduced ?

Anyone heard anything from this company recently. The court action against the OS has gone quiet, but the printed books seem to be selling pretty well. What the company really needs is to sell their digital maps to the local authorities.

While reading message boards a while back I found a gem. A newsletter that is dedicated to profiling little known issues.

It is certainly worth a few minutes of your time to take a look.

Little interest on this one recently, but the share price ticked-up today and the Chart looks good. The company seems to have a resonably strong case against the OS. If they win, does anyone know how much they could get? Much more than market cap. I would guess, although needs to be probability adjusted for valuation purposes. With a market cap. of less than £3m and cash flow break-even now close or reached then there does look like some upside. What do you think? Also, their areial map books are well stocked in Waterstones - seem to be doing reasonably well without a boom in the public sector demand for their maps. As always DYOR.

I have calmed down since my last out-burst.

Having thought about it, I realise my comments are irrelevant.

We are in times of uncertainty, and this naturally affects the share prices (quite justifiably in alot of cases at the moment).

Also correcting after the internet/IT fiasco, when we all got carried away.

The market does seem to be settling a little now in the smaller caps (the FTSE 100 still seems a little over-priced in some areas though).

This company is one of those little harmless gems that no-one notices, but does it's own thing and gets on with it, while the big guns battle to save their market share in out-dated markets.

Alot depends on the success of the O/S court case as to medium-term growth, but long-term it has a good product and is expanding.

Price rose rapidly a few weeks ago, and has settled down. It is slightly risky, but I will get some more money and buy a few more of these before the result of the court case.

This is because the outcome will affect future growth and profitability, not whether it will ever be profit-making.

Interims show reduced losses. And with a Mkt Cap of £2.5m, as with all shares at this level it is risky, but there is a visible future.
