endion, it was on page 12 under "Employment Policies". It's probably a couple of people working from home or something.

Nice to see a Director (or rather wife of) buy reported this morning. £225K so a good chunk and the first for James Mitchell who is the Non-Executive Director appointed last year that is also the Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Executive Vice President at Tencent.

PCA Dealings
The Company was notified on 20 September 2018 that Joy Hu, wife of James Mitchell, a Non-Executive Director of Frontier Developments plc, purchased 19,992 ordinary shares of 0.5p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at an average price of 1129.6 pence per Ordinary Share during the period 18-19 September 2018.

That is a very decent chunk of change!

Nice to close at £12, feels like the share price is definitely back on an upward trajectory now.

The Annual Report is a nice read. Nothing particularly new, but gives me additional confidence that the management really understand their market and how to take advantage. Referring back to the link nimbo posted FDEV could really take advantage of something like cloud streaming - Planet Coaster and JWE would work perfectly with that technology I think.

Side issue, the Annual Report briefly mentions US operations based in Nevada and Kansas - anybody know what that is about?

@ fozzie #3626

Better than my three (equal quantity) recent buys at 1150, 1000 and 850 for a nice £10 round average.

My trading-buy is still holding up, and if this stays above £12, then I'll raise my manual stop-loss from £10.50 to £11.

FDEV is now my 3rd largest holding, and now needs to hit £15.25 to be 1st.

My buys at 11 proved ill timed but my buys at 950 and 870 are now starting to look very good indeed. The market has thrown up and is throwing up some real bargains at the moment that one needs cash to take advantage of.

Nintendo recovering v well. This cross platform and streaming content is a good story for gaming companies. Fdev need to build their planet franchise out over the next 5-10 years and we’ll all do v nicely.

Good to see we finally closed above the 50DMA today, after battering through it and failing every day. Looking good from here!

As per a tweet I have just seen from IG (Investment Geordie), apparently FDEV are hoping to attend Mello London, as per

It would be good to see them being more proactive with the private investor community.

Seems like good news for companies such as Frontier:

An Estonian Startup Is Undercutting Billion-Dollar Gaming Stores

"Tallinn-based Ultra will take 15 percent from sales it generates through its digital store, in a bid to challenge companies such as Alphabet Inc.’s Google, Apple Inc., and Steam, the industry-leading platform owned by Valve Inc., which takes a 30 percent cut."

Although:

"Ultra plans to use blockchain technology to process payments and offer tokens to gamers who use its platform"

Generally, it seems like the established players may face erosion of margins, benefiting publishers.

The author of the IC article does not appear to know what the word “biannual̶1; means, or misuses it or confuses it with biennial.
In my dictionary it means twice a year but the forecasts assume one game every two years (exhibited by the drop-off in forecasts from 2019 to 2020).
In contrast the company policy is for one new game release a year.
Pity about the analytical rigour of the FT not to mention their standards in English.
Perhaps it’s a perennial problem?

BUY RECOMENDATION BY INVESTORS CHRONICLE - TODAY

Very positive in depth article, (and saying the decline in share price was 'extreme' and not justified and an overeaction).

If someone has access to the digital Inv.Chronicle, would they be so kind as to copy it on this thread, (Page 58).

They mention China regulatory changes being a bit of a dampener but that they are only FDEV's 3rd largest market.

Last para,

'The market for video games is in the midst of a global boom and Frontier - supported by highly experienced management and a substantial investment from Chinese tech giant Tencent - is ideally placed to benefit. Recent share price weakness offers investors a rare buying opportunity'.

Link to Investors Chronicle article previously mentioned.

I seemed to be able to read it before, but not now - do they limit to one free article or something? Anyway, the article says pretty much what the positive amongst us here have been saying about FDEV.

Makes no difference.
The only exception is where a share price gets so high it becomes prohibitive to buy a single share for some people (Berkshire Hathaway A shares for example)
