Lots of conjecture in your post log, like mine to be fair. The MoE has opened up the gas, electric and water markets as part of Georgia's accession to the EU Energy Community as many PDFs re implantation on its website testify. FRR is now able to tap into the network due to the opening of the gas market and it's surely no coincidence at the same time SN moved upstairs and KK moved from the ministry and a more pro-western head was put in charge. Anyway, not long to wait and see if this leopard (FRR - but with Zaza now running the show) has changed its spots.

Thanks for answering you. I think it comes down to the fact that you trust managment and are taken with the fact they have put their own funds into the company.

Personally I wouldn't take much in the fact that a large amount of money has been put in by directors. In companies like FRR that money can be paid back out very quickly to related party offshore companies, back salaries due, consultancy fees etc. I'm not saying that is going on at FRR but history has shown that this sort of thing does go on and it is every easy to achieve.

I'd have thought the AGM was mandatory. The CEO has to be re-elected etc. Thus it doesn't mean good news is due. CloudTag called an AGM when almost all the shareholders were baying for blood!

I know managment are now saying they have "unlocked" the key to the geology and this time is different but even so how can a work over make that much difference? Surely if they have found a way to produce it will require at the very least a different drilling plan not just a work over otherwise why were these new techniques not tried before?

Lastly you say Zaza is in with the Moe - do you have any evidence of this or is this just what Zaza has told you? I read some recent statements from the Moe which have been highly critical of FRR.

I'm surprised we haven't had more updates on ud-2 to be honest. I hope this doesn't mean bad news but with the notice of meeting I wouldn't think so. I certainly wouldn't be short in the lead up to the AGM and news. That said if the news is negative you'd wanna be short! I can't see him calling an AGM without being confident good news will precede it.

History would suggest this is still a very long shot indeed. I think Zaza putting another £1.5m of his own money, having the MoE onside and although by his own admission it's taken many, many years and money to crack the geology they believe they are finally there and ready to monetise the assets. I've met him twice and believe he believes it. I'm holding and expect this to be over 1p come year end as I believe they'll nail ud-2. Last time the pressure stopped operations and meant they had kit which had to be fished out. That was a success and I bet the testing will be. We should know soon. I am a little surprised we haven't had confirmation the perforation happened and what zones have been tested etc so it may be more missed deadlines but we may get a cracking intraday RNS. Hope so.

tickboo - what are the company expecting/hoping for from this well/workover? I’m genuinely interested too as I’ve had this one written down as junk for as long as I can remember, however I’m open minded enough to know that sometimes things can change, a good example being CAspian Sunrise today - a company I’ve known from its inception as Roxi Petroleum - and who’ve finally, after a decade of mainly disappointment, hit the sweet stuff.

tickboo thanks for that. However the RNSs they put out on UD-2 do not reflect this view at all. It seems they stopped before testing but never really gave a good reason why.

There was some talk about waiting for equipment to arrive and then some other chat about high pressure but then nothing happened and it all went quiet. This seems very odd indeed because surely if 5TCF was at stake and they got to the point of testing why not go ahead and actually test?

The well seems to have undergone a bit of a rebrand and has changed its name but it's the same one as far as I can see.

You also said "they stopped the drill" but it was my understanding that this is an old Russian well they didn't actually drill it.

I think they stopped the drill due to the MOE telling them not to continue going for the gas but this changed when KK left and SN upstairs.

Nicandros is still there anyway isn't he as a non-exec or something similar also Zaza has been there the whole time too "overseeing" what's going on. As far as I can tell the management hasn't changed much at all other than a bit of a swap of job title.

tickboo what has changed since the last time UD-2 was tested? I've already shown you that the new guy they've hired is bog standard. Why do you think a £500K work over will make any difference this time around? I'm genuinely interested to find out why you think its all different this time around.

I think the oil plays are a fairly safe bet but we're expecting news on ud-2 before or 7am on the AGM day and if it is not good news there's little doubt this will tank. Zaza has bet a lot on this when he said if had a 90% COS so his reputation will be tarnished too and trust yet again lost. An important few weeks here. If it is positive re ud-2 and it can be hooked up to the network in the coming couple of months it will be well over 1p. Fingers crossed.

tickboo - but has it really all just been down to Nicandros, will Zaza actually make the difference here and why? It's one heck of a leap of faith - fair play if it comes off but there's absolutely no margin for error at £85m mkt cap. One can't help but be suspicious that in settling old debts with directors, YA and seemingly Uncle Tom cobbly 'n all that it's gonna be shareholders who find themselves footing the bill, once again.

True years of missed targets and huge dilution have been corrosive to say the least. That said with the BoD aligned, a new era under Zaza, the MOE onside, EU Energy accession, both plays funded things seem to be on the up. We'll see what the AGM brings.

no one needs to “talk this down”, the company has done a fantastic job of that on its own.

I think the explanation is fairly clear, having issued grasping it? The fact is when we'd received that email we'd had 5 conversions since June, as stated above.

You're short so are desperate to talk it down. Risky business with the London AGM a week on Friday, ud-2 news not too far away and the oil play which is full funded with £500,000 on top kicking off in Nov. I expect news before the AGM and Zaza will hopefully revel in glory!

So tickboo when you said

"It was confirmed by the NOMAD that they did not exceed the limit"

You actually meant that a friend of yours spoke with the NOMAD who gave some sort of verbal reasoning why they were allowed to carry out two conversions in September although the reason you give above doesn't actually state there were two conversions in September. Since FRR don't actually disclose the details of the monthly limit we are now led to believe that they can pick some sort of time window and carry over any missed months?

You or perhaps your pal or perhaps the NOMAD also seem to think another conversion can't happen in October but give no reason for that. Perhaps we'll find out from the NOMAD or your pal later that since there was no conversion in May or that there is a full moon on the 4th of November that they can do another one next week?

I'm sorry to be such a cynic but it looks like you are reading whatever you want into this. Clearly the agreement between YA and FRR can be changed as and when they like and we have absolutely no re-assurances that more conversions won't happen as and when they like.
