tickboo you do make me laugh. The same two guys are running the show as have always ran it. They can shift a few job titles around but its the same people in charge. This company isn't much more than a couple of guys in an office and a few helpers. There are only 38 members of staff listed on linked in although some of them claim to be the owner of Frontera Resources so I suppose that's not valid!

You say "Why continue spending money on ud-2 if there is no chance of monetising the asset" well that's exactly what they did 2 years ago. They spent the money and did the test and when the results were due suddenly went quiet and made excuses. Maybe they didn't manage the test but they certainly tried to do it.

Oh and I'm not suggesting FRR are now inline with current best-practice as they're far from it but splitting those roles is a start and an important one!

No co-incidence KK and SN changed roles in the same week.

SN is a non-exec Chairman which is not day-to-day unlike the CEO who is day-to-day is responsible for the strategic direction and operational success or failures so there is a massive difference. In addition having a joint Chairman and CEO is far from best-practice, splitting the roles with a non-exec Chairman and CEO is.

Why continue spending money on ud-2 if there is no chance of monetising the asset, no point especially when FRR was struggling financially.

Oil play is being prepared which is good news and good to see photos, many other O&G PLCs so the same and about time FRR is getting in on the action.

Nicandros still a director tickboo your thesis is flawed in so many ways.

I can't believe you think the were on the brink of testing UD2 for gas last time then just gave up due to politics that have now changed radically. Why not test anyway and then wait for politics to be resolved.

Maybe just me but companies that tweet pics of trucks arriving are errrmmany more than a tad promotional.

log, KK and the MOE were closely aligned with the Azerbaijanis hence FRR were discouraged from continuing the gas programme. The accession to the EU Energy Community meant KK and SN had to move on from their roles (SN accusing the MOE of almost corruption I'm sure meant he had to move upstairs and likewise KK off to be mayor). Close that short, Log!

If the MoE wouldn't let them sell the gas why bother spending the hundreds of millions in the first place. You can't really have it both ways can you?

You can only raise money via RBL or the like if you're able to sell the gas and they were not able to do so so it didn't make sense continuing spending money which was scarce when the MOE would not allow FRR to monetise the asset!

On the plus side all the money spent means the cost recovery pool is massive and that money has hopefully unlocked the tricky geology. Not long to wait.

Off to lunch.

OK tickboo I accept there's been a few publications to do with the EU membership bid. But what you are saying makes no sense at all. Two years ago FRR were testing UD-2 for example. Suddenly it all went quiet. Are we to believe that they gave up on a shot at 5TCF because politically there were obstacles that have now been removed? Why not complete the test and establish the result then deal with the politics. At least they'd be able to raise money then if it was a success.

It seems you are basically saying that the reason there was no exploration success in the past was due to political problems. Now the EU membership is more in focus they'll have exploration success? It wasn't a matter of investment in the past they've the balance sheet shows they spent a huge sum exploring.

good that both oil and gas plays are now fully funded.

Ummm well they've got about £3m in the bank they didn't have before but G&A would eat that up in 6 months. That looks like a drop in the ocean compared with what they've already spent on the blocks.

Maybe against a better political back drop £3m will succeed where '000s of millions failed. Seems unlikely though doesn't it.

Log, there are a load of PDFs on the MOE website regarding opening the water, gas and electricity markets to competition and encouraging it. Some of these were painstakingly translated and they confirm that the markets have been opened up ahead of joining the EU Energy Community. The MOE' stance has softened on FRR which is why they were even mentioned when other blocks were put put to tender. Things have certainly changed for the better.

The gas was affected and but that obstacle has been cleared. SN still should have targeted lower hanging fruit to get revenue going and i assume Zaza has belatedly learnt the lessons. Good that both oil and gas plays are now fully funded.

Fair enough Mick but I see nothing to suggest the politics has changed (other than because FRR tell us which I don't think is particularly valid). Do you have any links which suggest it has?

Your right log if history will repeat itself then yes we are about to be shafted but get the feeling it was mostly about the politics here which has limited our progress you have one opinion im on the other wouldnt it be boring if we all thought the same
