steve IS FRES perhaps just too large ( eg compared to small silver miners) to maker a large move back up assuming silver makes such a move?
anyhow, its down 35 points, noting this positive slant on silver here, gold has a rollover this month but not silver:

I'm having a look into this signal tool called extreme Hurst tool. ( as mentioned in the above article)
No pun intended.

Brink. Thanks for the article on FRES. Costs and capex shooting up, profits down but avoiding losses unlike many others.

HOC, another top 5 primary silver producer, was one not to avoid losses but it's gone through a transition and has come out much leaner and stronger:

AISC reduced from $21.7 oz (2012) to $12.9 (2015) to expected $11-11.50 oz (2016).

Company output increased from 20.5 to 35+ million Ag equiv oz (+70%) from 2013-16.

It's completed the heavy capex on it's 100% owned new world class Inmaculada mine in Peru with blue sky ahead!

Back in profit last year, 2016 and dividend restored. Ftse250.

It reports next week.

There's a very interesting (and, for those of us who've held Fresnillo for a long time, rather depressing) article on Fresnillo by Steve St Angelo, looking at the profitability, production and investment over a decade.

Lol GS, calm down mate!

All we need is for the Donald to be let out to play again and the wall of worry internationally will knock the dollar and boost PMs in equal measure.

Which, btw, is exactly what he needs to 'Make America Great Again' as the basic economics won't allow him to otherwise. Never forget the very real debt mountain and year-on-year oil price surge coming through of 100%-plus leading to PMs best friend inflation.

Which will be also Trump's bestest mate as he sees the debt eroded by rising costs. Just need to kill the Fed so the banksters don't go raising rates now...

Tough medicine but it's been coming and needed.

At the moment it looks like it might be FRES. But HOC is traditionally slow and decides to catch up several days worth of gains in a day.

And 1oz Brits on ebay sell for £23-24...

Dent might be right but it's the timing he cannot predict with accuracy.
He has called for a mega stocks collapse for 7 years, to no avail.

Which means silver could get to $35 or whatever...before maybe dropping to $10 etc.

His track record on predicting things such as tech bubble bursting, gold peaking at circa $1900, the 2008 collapse, they have been spot on.

Which does make me a bit nervous about 2017 to be honest.

I am keeping some paper dry from all equities right now just becAuse markets continue to break their highs.
Nervy times.

FRES more interestingly volatile than HOC over two days. Silver looks ready to move over $17 soon.

breaktwister,
your handle is a good analogy - for what would happen when silver went to $10. It COULD do, but as you say, there would be vast demand and only incidental production, from copper and zinc.
But can I say this: there is PRESENTLY great demand and less silver than can be used. Yet - Comex can still let controllers, control it.
Logic says, Comex control will still control it at $10, $5, and 2 cents! Why not?

There are two (well 3! ) markets , Comex, Shangai, and the law of the marketplace.
Shangai is closer, and finds price discovery.

At $10, or $5, the existence of the thing called Comex and its manipulation would simply be ignored and bypassed.
So the manipulation would still appear, but everyone who traded silver would use Shangai, or make private deals ( between a mine and company: or on a small scale, on E-bay etc). It is, already so. We can still sell or buy a US Silver Eagle ounce at say, £21 or £22 sterling. ( pounds - not dollars) Thats a fact.

Does anyone know offhand what the average silver AISC are here? I read through some of the rns reports including interims but I didnt see this figure nor the average price obtained for silver sales per oz.

Hes insane. Silver will not be anywhere near $10 and if it did I would sell all possessions including my house and load up. Global silver mining will grind to a halt at $10 so supply will fall through the floor = higher prices pretty much immediately.

'Following an update released by analysts at Barclays Capital on Monday the broker has now set a ‘Equal Weight’ rating on shares of Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) with a price target of 1400p'

Didn't take long eh ;)

Well done guys.
Disco, not short. Just had some ta target @ 1314 and buy order in @1315.5 since last Thursday. Clearly I have been wrong and missed-out albeit I had been long from 1165 until cashing-in too early.
Keep up the good work here and prosper.

Thanks Top.

I will let this roll. I have physical silver that I intend to hold until it gets back to $35. I believe we will see that figure within 2-3 years.

I don't think a £30 target is unrealistic.

I would certainly look for £20 here in 2017.
