Paul We didn’t “lose the contract” it was just a POC trial for a particular workflow in the factual department.

I would not read anything into it.

BBC has used Forscene on individual productions.

As a 'stand alone' the loss of the BBC contract was not, IMHO, important as we do not know the size of contract or reason why it wasn't taken up. Given that, 2017 was a very poor year for sales generally, the loss of the BBC contract, therefore, became significant to shareholders and the market as it indicates a worrying trend of ineffectiveness to turn product into sales. One significant contract win should erase those doubts. Still no word from Fanview re Jim Irving's big announcements in early 2018... GLA and IMHO

There can be little doubt that once data arrives within the BBC system they have plenty of choices available. I thought perhaps naively that USPs for FBT were that it could upload data from anywhere in the world, from locations that had relatively poor internet access to the Cloud and that it could be passed back and forth between interested parties easily. This would for the most part be independent of the BBCs internal arrangements. The only internal comment I have seen about FBT was about a cataloguing and indexing application, which it does but which is simply a feature of the larger whole.

_m_k,

you might recall they were using it as a video viewer.

I assume there is gigabit ethernet in the BBC. They could easily have reverted to something like the free VLC media player.

In my view, FBT are completely wasting their opportunity, in no way focused on financials, wasting our money and have proven they cannot run a business. If I attend the AGM, I will be voting for IM to be removed (assuming nothing positive happens) and requesting shareholders to have a vote on the appointment of the next CEO.

Absolute muppetry.

"It was a particular Workflow that didn’t progress it wasn’t a rejection of our technology"

perhaps a question for the AGM - what was the workflow - logging, editing, reviewing... etc. did they gave any more info on why it was rejected, was an alternative workflow with other suppliers chosen???

going to keep a record of these google hits

google : site:linkedin "forscene"

currently 840 results

subtract say 150 for forbidden related people and perhaps we have 600 professionals with skills in forscene

be nice to know which way we're headed

BBC hasn’t gone away imho

“ The workflow which the PoC had envisaged was unfortunately not adopted. However, we were able to raise the profile of Forbidden within the broadcaster.“

It was a particular Workflow that didn’t progress it wasn’t a rejection of our technology.

The FBT newspaper is customer/fan engagement which has to be a positive for the industry and let's trust the FBT staff that it is relevant/needed and not a drain on staff resources. IMHO and GL

i saw the post earlier and just shook my head in disbelief.

to me this is an example of a company who really have no idea where their priorities are, what is the point of this new site. If people in the industry want the latest news there are plenty of established feeds and sites, this is just another waste of staff time and money which would be better off on clear and focused strategy of targeting companies and broadcasters which either have never heard of forscene/blackbird or are unaware of the benefits, or even invest the money in to full page adverts in broadcasting magazines.

Yes it does need a global technology partner!

The Unknowns are who is testing the POC’s
Tiny companies or Major?

To embed our technology into the infrastructure would need very long testing time.
12-24 months I reckon.
Big prize though.

Waiting game for success or failure.

FBT is not a suitable investment for most investors who are going to stress about it.
All or nothing Share

The only 'unknown fact' that I bet on is that while we speak Mr Streater (and others) are honing/enhancing/bespoking the already ground breaking technology and to support that work is a privelage.
