IM is an experienced chap, and knows exactly what he’s doing. It’s called networking. You only need to look at his Linked page and look at the people liking his posts to see. Have a bit of faith. The guy didn’t invest if he didn’t think he could make a success of it. With regards the MSFT co-sell status, how the hell you see that as negative is unbelievable.

Ha ha, thinking that earlier re the CEO... Two years ago AM did a similar 2 week US road trip and he was slated(on here) for ONLY being a sales guy..

The CEO could be better utilised 'running the business' or learning another language - Chinese or Indian perhaps? (as these are potentially massive markets moving forwards)

And where is our Marketing?

NickB,

At this point, being on a smaller separate stand would be better than being on a stand with Microsoft. Microsoft are using fbt and fbt are getting little or nothing in return.

I don't really get why IM ,( the CEO of a $30million UK company), is flying to the US to do a sales job. Are FBT's sales team that bad? I guess so... It's a shame, I know a lady in Cambridge who could sell ice to Eskimos! Fbt couldn't organise a drinks night in a brewery...

Of course but we bill our clients separately so we are in control.

Microsoft themselves are targeting media companies as a sales vertical to sell media services to the industry.

Such as storage, encoding, streaming, Avid, BeBop Adobe
We bring the only Cloud native Editing service and proxy video workflows.

It’s in Microsoft’s interest that we are on their platform as it builds the video ecosystem running on Azure.

Plus Microsoft have services that may benefit from our technology in the future.

Anyway it seems this weeks news has upset shareholders rather than make them happy.

Stay sceptical 🤨

NickB,

Being a partner does not mean you have to bend over and take it unconditionally. We're saying hold on, we want to get some lubricant or a reach around or something.

We need to make some demands of Microsoft, why would anyone value us if we don't value ourselves? It's not a charity, it's the market.

Well we might as well give up if we cannot partner with either Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS as they will have I would imagine 90% of the Cloud business in the media industry all the clients we are after!

Not a refusal. Just be realistic.

So Microsoft Azure at NAB which will have the most senior executives in the industry visiting their stand should be a refusal from us?

Very strange

Azure has delivered one client we already had and would have had anyway, it would have just remained off Azure. And it has delivered one Mickey mouse client we might well have got anyway.3 years for that? Lol.

I used azure for years until December, if you have used azure it'll be obvious....

Hi NickB,

In reference to doing trade shows with Microsoft.

AFAIK, the azure revenue is insignificant and Microsoft are not promoting blackbird.

The conversation should be "we would love to exhibit with you again but our revenues from azure are very small and we've been very disappointed by what seems to be an absence of any promotional material by you of our product. We wish you great successfully marketing your solution and are sure that another company would be delighted to exhibit their patented variable rate codec with you, oops actually we're the only company in the world that have patented that solution, however good luck anyway."

A bit less snarky but with above key points

‘next time they should tell Microsoft thanks but no thanks.’

Strange strategy!

How are we going to provide Cloud services in the US without Microsoft or AWS?

Latest FBT Tweet

After almost 2 weeks on the road in the US evangelising Blackbird, our trailblazing CEO, Ian McDonough, ends his trip with a great meeting with Alex Drosin, CCO of @Massive_Voice, now a part of our customer, @deltatre. #cloudvideo #cloudadoption #videoworkflows #video

Paul,

I agree totally re hyperbole versus reality. This is a discussion forum not a cheerleader forum.

Fbt have jumped through the hoops, next time they should tell Microsoft thanks but no thanks.

I also assume that when an 'agent' sells the FBT product to their client, FBT potentially receive less revenue?

Maybe someone could clarify, if so what %?

I read all FBT's official announcements and keep up to date with news as I am heavily involved (financially) as a shareholder.

Not at all! I'm sure FBT are exploring all options as and when they arrive and the Microsoft partnership may prove successful in the future. The 'Stamp of Approval' is great news and I 'once again' congratulate the R&D team.

There is a disconnect though between FBT's ability to produce a great product and their ability to sell it.

Why do you even bother reading what the company is doing if you think it’s hype?

Just read the accounts every 6 months

Yep

Remember when they used to tweet about being in LA on the set of Doctors, an early adopter, and then meeting other existing customers.

I think it was AM's week where he did NY, LA and then a webcast to Australia.

And then the results down the line show £80k ish in USA income.

Agree....

The CEO tweeting (interesting as it is) about meetings with clients is like an Art Gallery tweeting 'Today the Gallery was Open'
