Yes and it's clearly not friendly - look at FLO's RNS this morning - hardly a sign of a company that's exactly happy with the situation. IMHO

532K and 150K = the 682K.........dunno why I never noticed that - all at 104p that threw me I guess.

they would not have added the 600000+ for a strategic holding
they are going for 30 % imo

Looks like those trades at 104p on Tuesday were two way trades, buys and sells - they'll still be buying more then before the bid perhaps.

littlemadman - yep, I suspect the mm's got short selling FLO to punters when there wasn't any stock about so scaring a few out to pick up a bit before any news of a bid looks likely. It's not large trades.

Got to be an RNS soon regarding that recent buy.

techmark.

When online bid size is tiny anybody trying to sell will get refused
or have to take a discount, how many times has this happened in Flo
recently only to see the price go 15-25p higher a few days later when
the lines of stock available get snapped up.

Cant believe somebody would sell at 89p when 92p bid and with current
events surrounding the stock.

CR. i think they would have to immediately state their intentions, any company building up 30% is obliged to make a bid.
Looks like MMs very much expect action and scaring out a few holders. They pick up stock at 90p and make their percentage profit. That's the game I suppose, they in it for £ too.

If Mentor have over 30% they have to bid. Dunno what the legal timescale is but anyone taking over 29.9% of a company is obliged to make a bid for the whole co. I would guess that has to be in less than 3 months which means they would have to bid 104p+ because they have been buying at that level and they have tp pay all shareholders the same amount or more as their highest price recently paid for shares paid within 3 months of a bid.

Sellers below bid price this morning, has shares mag said sell or something?

If there is bid by Mentor it won't be below 104p, that much we do know.

Why should Mentor bid before the results? Unless they are very good the share price is likey to fall so Mentor could get away with bidding less to get control.

yep, and if they make a bid within 3 months they have to pay all shareholders 104p or more. I'd say the recent buy has to be Mentor as it's 104p again and if they are over 30% they have to bid. RNS re holding soon and bid news by the results imo.

only RNS is stating total voting rights, flagging up to Mentor and others exact holding. I think RNS re Mentor holding will come sometime today.

Hi 8trader
yup, thats right about online auto quotes.

Re mentor... thats not quite what i was saying
what i'm highlighting is the mm's dont usually take 46k without a tick down(or many). It would seem they, as in the mm's, want stock perhaps

p.s. no doubt they'll read this now and give it a tree-shake to teach me a lesson =:O/

Not bidding much online thought right now..just 1500 at 98p
so i dont think there's a buy order with Mentor otherwise it
would be 25k+ bid size.

Nice rise yesterday while i was offline.

I posted this yesterday before the big trades went through

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
abcd1234 - 8 Apr'08 - 14:26 - 1159 of 1185 edit
the mm LAND was happy to take over 14,000 shares in 3 sells over the last few hours without ticking down etc
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

today LAND has taken over 26,000 in 6 sells over the last few hours without ticking down etc
(edit: make that 46,000 in 7 sells, as a delayed reported sell from 2hrs ago has now shown up at 11.39am)

Yet a small buy of 2 or 3 k (usually) brings a tick up.

mm's after stock ?

Hmmm.....

(shares bought 17th, co. informed 18th, RNS issued after mkt open on 19th at 10.11am)

Assuming that it is Mentor who acquired the stock at 104p, an RNS will be forthcoming.

I'm not a holder of FLO, but the flurry of activity yesterday afternoon caught my attention and upon looking in I was struck by the strangeness of the figures. Wondering whether the 104p trades were real or just belated book-keeping?

Bluehone previously sold 1.38m shs to Mentor and the total of the 3 trades yesterday came to 1.364m, just 16k shs short. More unusual is the fact that 1 trade of 682k shs is equally balanced out by the trades of 532k and 150k.

If the trades are real in the sense they have been accepted here, then a RNS to explain it is an automatic requirement, but none has been issued. It's still early doors maybe and one will follow shortly, but until then, as I've said, very strange!

Marked up pre-open, the Mentor buying in the market now?

Perhaps the mm's realise they will need to fill their short positions if bid news comes today?

Looks like the mm's agree with you Mudbath. The mm "LAND" has just ticked "up" to 98p-105p

(the other two mm's are at 93-100)
