Tim:
all your comments on TSCO noted . Good thoughts and trading ideas.
I must rush now but will post further comments and my option trade tonight on the OPT options thread . Probably a better place to discuss the fine details of options since probably too long-term to interest the day-traders on this thread .

welcome aboard. I think land results were not too well received last week and it could be that we're seeing a knock on effect here.

I had not thought about petrol, but you are probably right on better margins. At 240 I'm also bullish although the slant on the long term moving average and the lower highs makes me cautious. I also agree re the court decision, and long term I cannot see branded goods makers winning this one, since legal or otherwise its almost impossible to stop grey imports.

I have bought stock recently at 240, but could not resist selling at 245+, done this a few times. Also have some Nov 260 sold calls that will expire worthless tomorrow - easy money. Would like to roll these over but the vol is around historic lows, so I will wait for some vol and a share price closer to 250 than 240. Sold the last lot at a share price of 260 so got a great premium.

One other play I considered was to buy the Feb 240 calls and sell some May 260s to pay, to leave you net zero. This would work well if and as I expect TSCO stays in or around its current range. I would look to sell the bought calls on a nice rise and leave the 260's naked and or cover with bought stock lower down.
