Tim: re TSCO .The court outcome will add short-term to volatility . I expect that the upside on favourable outcome is greater than the down-side onfailure to get judgment since adverse judgment won't affect on-going business very much but positive outcome could provide the stimulus for breakout .
What are your views on oil price effects. What is the demand elasticity for petrol. I presume that the sales volume will grow with lower petrol prices. What about profit margin on petrol ?
I feel mildly bullish on the stock and have backed this with options trade today. 12-month low is 218, hence I don't expect it to break below the 220 strike price in next 6 months . Historic volatility 28.48 and ITM May@260 twice as likely as ITM Feb@ 220 .

wolfie, with a high beta avz is a great proxy for the ftse. it used to be very predictable but has been a bit erratic since its last less than inspiring results. having said that, it's riding the current surge well.
buy it before buying one of their unit trusts :-)
