Some chatter on twitter of a bid approach, would have to be 6 squid |
Nearly 400, very nice!I cannot see the reason why. |
400p broken!! Just the 1600p to go to back to early 2020 highs :) (Being 2000p) |
Near 380p open, nice! |
Never thought I'd be saying that about 350p! But yes, quite the thing indeed.
For the first time I did not buy when it dipped to a low. I still haven't. Perhaps you should be grateful?
cheers |
Well, what can you say about that finish. Happy days ? |
Only 30 months ago, this was over 2000 pence |
335p close? |
Nice jump into the close at 332p |
Come on mms let people buy and sell Create a market please |
Going up nicely now. |
I think windmills in the UK (or local offshore) will start to cut it, although not providing the core of our energy needs. Nuclear will have to play such a part, even at great expense as this is the only current way to ensure low-carbon energy resilience - a fact that will not go away (and ought not to have done in any event - it was hardly a secret that Russia was not a reliable partner).
On windmills, cost per MWh is falling rapidly, and technology to store energy is similarly expected to fall, especially if some of the new technologies I read about continue to attract rapidly increasing development capital.
In a steady-state mix of solar, wind and nuclear, surely FSJ can find a place at the top table in the long run. |
Bought 1k today. (Based upon the 5yr chart potential recovery, looking beyond the last week's mini rise in comparison) |
Sadly a decision to decommission the MOX plant - which never operated satisfactorily - was taken in 2011 following the Fukashima disaster when Japanese reprocessing orders temporarily dried up. Ironically Japanese reprocessing orders recommenced in 2013 but went to France.
All too often - Long term investment and development is something we don't seem to have the stamina for in the UK.
There is a silver lining - one long term industry has risen phoenix like from the (radioactive) ashes of Calder Hall/Windscale/Sellafield - decommissioning. Which is scheduled to continue for the next 100years - and James Fisher Nuclear have been awarded a series of contracts - recently a contract to provide ROV services. JFN also have decommissioning contracts at Dounray and Winfrith (Dorset) that I know of.
cheers |
Hamhamham1 It's good that fishers are still involved In the nuclear . The shipping of waste and mox fuel for that matter is only going to grow The green talkers and windmill lovers will soon realise the only way the planet will be able to stop carbon emissions is nuclear energy . Windmills just won't cut it ! |
Time will tell I guess. Another similar where price fallen through the floor I hold is IGR, plus a few others like CPI, BOO, SFOR, LUCE, etc. But holding a few of these higher risk/rewards types is only a part of my portfolio, but the more interesting to watch. And I will call it wrong sometimes, but as long as I call more good than bad and don't over invest in any single stock, then am happy. |
Ah thank you for that - I'd not seen the Odyssean rns on Friday. That certain;y helps.
Your buys look like good timing Ham - I had a few at 276p and was planning to buy another 1k shares or so a little lower - but hopefully I've missed my opportunity now.
Some press releases appearing on the James Fisher website in the last week.
Three successful subrescue trials/exercises is the one I've been waiting for. That should turn some working capital into cash soon.
I'll wait to see if it drops back a bit before buying more,
cheers |
Odyssean have a nice approach..
"Highly focused We look to build a highly concentrated portfolio of no more than 25 companies where we carry out intensive diligence, only investing behind our highest conviction ideas. We focus our investments on smaller companies, typically too small for inclusion in the FTSE 250 index. We believe the best investment decisions are made from a base of knowledge and experience, and we will make the majority of investments in industry sectors which we know well (TMT, Services, Industrials and Healthcare).
Long term We evaluate each investment opportunity over a 3 to 5-year investment horizon. We have structured our business to reflect this belief and do not intend to run any capital which is redeemable over short time periods. To think like an ‘owner’ of a business we believe your capital should behave like one too." |
The combination of the new share stakes by Aberforth, and now Odyssean, is an encouraging sign that a couple of serious investors see hidden value in FSJ's bombed out share price. |
Look at recent holdings RNSs, a few poking their heads above water. Inc this one yesterday, maybe the reason for the 10% rise? Odyssean Investment Trust PLC
Plus Aberforth a week ago crossed the 5% Aberforth Partners LLP |
These had a steady solid run up for 10 yrs till covid, am just hoping they will get back to even half the previous highs (2200p area). |
Yep, don't hear too much, here they celebrate women in nuclear... |
Now then cast the Europhile aside ( Low tone people ) James Fisher . One of my relatives worked for this firm for decades. Does it still ship the nuclear waste ?? |
Medieval blacksmith. You can make a fortune from the dirty Eurphiles opinion. Dairy Crest is a classic example . A great company talked to its knees by the pathetic Europhile. If you leave the Fourth Reich , farming is finished you will all starve Sterling will turn to dust etc etc . Of course down at £ 4.50 ish . I thought oh dear the Europhile s have made a mistake with Dairy Creat . And of course so did the Canadian billionaire Dairy Family . They immediately paid me a couple of quid more per share to take them off my hands . Well done Europhiles 😀 . Now I note that in the fourth Reich , I note that some of the Republics have inflation over 20 per cent and some 6 😀. Reap it you Europhile muppets reap it !!! Oh and buy yourselves a good coat , because your gunner be cold this Winter! |
