Well I suppose we could here further on the US OPs at anytime |
This is doing very well today given overall market is getting a hammering.
Up the second largest amount on ftse250 today on no update, hopefully means news is afoot. |
Knowing -> Agreed, and at this price these are still looking very cheap.
I invested earlier this year and looking at the 3/6 month chart these are heading towards 100p in the next 4-6 weeks (if not sooner) There may be some volatility on the way but I'm certain the upside looks promising. |
Travel and Transport stocks are certainly in demand. |
Worrying times ahead for UK bus/rail operators, IMHO. Operators are typically running 80-90% of their usual mileage, but carrying only 15-20% of the usual passengers. Government grants are filling the gap, but these are due to end 8 weeks after lockdown ends. With the government message (or personal preference, new habits) still being 'avoid public transport' and 'work from home if you can', there is bound to be a huge revenue shortfall. |
Well call me mad but added a few more on that dip |
Reacting nicely to the news today. We move back to a new normal but there is light at the end of the tunnel. |
It's precisely the reason I invested. Well that and the other valuable assets they are looking to unload...DYOR... |
Added some more here. Like the recovery so far and with us moving out of lockdown can only see this recovering further. |
Johnson will set out his "road map" out of lockdown on 22 February. We should have a better idea by then. |
I agree Joe, thats why I suggested 'without news' . (either positive or negative)With news or external factors such as the opening up of society or extended lockdowns this will possibly move more (either way)All of that said, there is still value in the company either in assets if sold or as an ongoing business with the right leadership. |
I am not a chartist either but, like most other shares, this one is dependent upon extraneous influences right now, and not previous chart readings. |
I'm not a chartist, but it looks like it may be near the bottom of a narrow range, with around 5-10% upside without news in the short term. There is still value in the company, its products ans importantly its assets both here and abroad. Of course DYOR and understand the risks and possible rewards.I did, and that's why I invested... |
No we had other disposal news but nothing regarding the main event as yet. |
Has anyone heard any more about the Sky news report from December suggesting that a bid had been made for First Transit and First Student for £2.5bn as well as other US assets. |
Next resistance looks around a pound |
This has some catching up to do looking at NEX |
Firstgroup (FGP) CitigroupTop Pick-90.00 |
Bank of England: Economy to rebound strongly due to vaccine |
Paulof, do the US companies have a lot of debt? ie will any sale proceeds have debt deducted before sending the cash to First Group? |
Pretty much cyber, hopefully there be other bids too. They’ve also got the benefit of the greyhound sales, one that made 100m profit a couple of weeks ago. |
Sitting on the sidelines to see how this plays out. |
Interesting about the US sales, are they really likely to sell them for $3.7bn? That would wipe out their company debt *and* leave them with a cash pile worth the current market cap?!?! With the actual remaining transport business thrown in for free? Am I understanding that correctly? |
Decent first bid, let’s hope there’s a couple more |
Dreams can come true ;-) |
