Watch this space .. |
Not sure what First wants to be and do going forward. They seem to be retreating from UK Bus, UK Rail, USA --- what's left? Are they secretly building up a space travel business? |
They could be 200p on a disposal |
Yes ..but very surprised that the shares are not higher ...mkt is being slow or I am !! |
Interesting u turn? I thought they had previously intended to fight the activists on disposing of the US contracts business. I guess every business has its price and we will see a full US withdrawal. Plenty of value here to extract |
Rns today .. |
15 % now held by 2 aggressive activists... plenty of upside in my opinion .. |
Interesting news today .. |
Agreed, plenty of value here, either the BoD will extract value or activists and Private Equity will. Great entry point yesterday, i think some of the bounce today is also the favourable update from the MMC concerning the West Coast Franchise. Happy holder at these levels. |
Pe will deal with them |
Going back to 130p. Does anyone think this news surprised the market yesterday? I think not! |
Thanks ...let's see what happens |
Having used Greyhounds the length of the Eastern USA, I do know that they are clueless about how to run it. The passenger experience is pretty grim, and the opportunity to 'up-sell' whilst vastly improving the customer experience at nil cost, completely eludes them. I conclude that no senior manager ever tries their product. Perhaps the new head honcho will have more idea? Greyhound is an opportunity for a 'hands on' type of operator to greatly improve the customer experience at negligible cost, which should lead to a profitable operation. I find it a bit worrying that if they don't know how to properly operate Greyhound, then how well are they operating elsewhere? |
Will depend on what they get for Greyhound..any ideas on that ? |
They look utter dog poo |
100p undoubtedly will be tested |
back to 80p …...then into the bin if the debts keep spiralling upward. Net debt £2billion. Wtf |
Anyone know if there is progress in the sale of Greyhound ? |
Well have held these for a hell of a long time to see my initial large loss become quite small looking for long term income as these have not paid a divi since 2012 am wondering wether to sell out and invest in a divi payer? |
Another troll by the username lsehotdealz haha, share price is stagnant and there’s talks of fundraise at 10p on that board lol desperation has lead to going round posting on different board to prevent share price from dropping, usually ud stay quiet and average down and accumulate if you see huge potential lmaoo he’s spamming all the boards |
![](https://images.advfn.com/static/default-user.png) stephen1946, I stopped commercial driving because I reached the conclusion that the rewards fell far short of the potential risk. I have only been involved in one collision with a commercial vehicle. When the police eventually turned up, the car driver admitted straight away to the two policemen that it was entirely his fault, which indeed it was. Moments later I am sat in the back of a Range Rover getting the 'Good-cop Bad-cop routine'! The police were so prejudiced against truck drivers that they literally didn't 'hear' the mans confession. I pointed out the other chap had taken 100% responsibility, they looked at me in disbelief and one of them went to check, coming back looking rather surprised. "He's right you know, the other bloke said he's completely responsible". "Now you know why I wouldn't move the wagon until you could see the scene" I replied. After that the cops were as good as gold, but they are plainly primed to go after the professional driver!
A tragic case with the elderly lady, but an accident, it should never have come to a court case. |
Stephen, where do you get that from? It wasn't murder and he was cleared. |
!YOUTUBEVIDEO:uvxsElaHcuI: Will FirstGroup hit at speed bump following Thursday’s full year results?
The main reason for its recent rise is speculation that the firm could be broken up. Coast Capital Management are trying to force change at the company with a list of demands, top of which being the separation of its US assets – which includes Greyhound, First Transit and First Student buses, alongside the A-Train – to generate £3 billion in re-investable capital.
It also thinks FirstGroup should remove itself from the British railway arena, a move that would effectively hand the West Coast Mainline to a consortium led by the Chinese state-owned Guangshen Railway Company. Coast Capital also wants a serious shake-up at the top.
Investors will want word of when the rescheduled general meeting requested by Coast Capital will happen, alongside an improvement at the struggling Greyhound bus division.
